Anthurium Warocqueanum, commonly known as the Queen Anthurium, is a tropical flowering plant native to Ecuador. It is prized for its striking appearance, featuring large, heart-shaped leaves that are dark green and glossy with prominent veins. The leaves can grow up to 3 feet long, creating a dramatic statement in any indoor or outdoor setting. This plant produces spectacular inflorescences that stand out with vibrant colors, typically in shades of red, pink, or white, emerging from a spadix surrounded by a colorful bract.

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves.

  • Water: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent root rot.

  • Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (around 60% or more). Consider using a humidifier or placing a pebble tray with water beneath the pot.

  • Temperature: Ideal temperatures range from 65°F to 85°F (18°C to 29°C). Protect it from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

  • Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, ideally formulated for aroids or orchids, which retains moisture but allows air circulation.

  • Fertilization: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).

  • Repotting: Repot every couple of years or when it outgrows its container, preferably in the spring.
