This plant is a succulent tropical shrub and has the capability to bloom in a variety of different colors. This shrub may grow from 3-6 feet outdoors an up to 2 feet indoors. To plant outdoors the better the sun exposure the better the bloom it needs at least 3-4 hours of direct sunlight so its best if its in a full sun location if in a dry location partial sun is best to prevent scorching and browning. If planting outdoors plant is well draining soil. If indoors use cactus potting mix and make sure the root ball is in a snug pot to prevent the retention of water if this occurs the roots will rot from an excess of soil. With crown of thorns being a succulent, it doesn't need too much water only water when the soil is feeling dry from 1 inch below the surface. Remember to water well and do not let the plant sit in water or wet soil for an extended period of time as this will cause the roots to rot. In the winter the plant will go semi dormant and will require less watering and food.

The ideal indoor temperature for this plant is about 65-75 degrees but can withstand down to 50 degrees. This plant will also be okay in an low humidity environment.
