There is some water that sits there but for the most part, it does drain into the sink. The little bit of water that sits there, ends up evaporating. It fits the 26 fl. Oz. Of dish soap, which is great! It holds the sponges in place. Helps to keep things around the sink clean. I had another storage container that held my stuff in but it didn’t drain into the sink so mold would form and I would have to throw stuff away. I like the fact this one has a drain, so that water doesn’t stand on the bottom and create mold after awhile. It’s easy to assemble. The quality is great! It’s easy to clean!// 8/23/25 love it so much, I bought a 2nd one for the other side of my sink! It’s also easy to clean as well.
