Plants that crawl, as opposed to climb, typically tolerate lower light levels compared to their counterparts which climb up trees to reach more light. The Pastazanum stays close to the ground, under the canopy, rooting into the soil wherever it settles. This makes it easy to propagate; simply cut in between nodes on the main stem and each cutting should already have a root system ready to go. As it matures, the petioles can get longer, the leaves get larger and the plant can overall look bushier.
