Tectorum is the "fuzziest" complex of tillandsia available. The trichomes of these plants have stretched out to absorb as much moisture as possible in the dry climates they grow in. These dense and elongated trichomes also protect the leaves from strong direct light during the summer months. Tectorum should be treated like a cactus; strong light, infrequent watering, and sparse fertilizer
