Specialized Liquid Fertilizer for Cacti & Succulents
Schultz Cactus Plus 2-7-7 Liquid Plant Food is a concentrated, micronutrient-rich fertilizer specifically designed to meet the unique needs of cacti, succulents, jade, and aloe vera plants. This low-nitrogen formula promotes healthy growth without the excessive foliage that can harm desert plants.
NPK Analysis
- 2% Nitrogen (N) - Low nitrogen prevents excessive soft growth that makes cacti and succulents vulnerable to rot
- 7% Phosphorus (P) - Higher phosphorus supports strong root development and encourages blooming
- 7% Potassium (K) - Enhanced potassium improves drought tolerance and overall plant vigor
- Plus Micronutrients - Essential trace elements specially formulated for desert plant needs

Why Cacti & Succulents Need Specialized Fertilizer
Desert plants evolved in nutrient-poor soils with minimal nitrogen. Regular houseplant fertilizers contain too much nitrogen, which causes cacti and succulents to produce soft, weak growth that's prone to rot and disease. Schultz Cactus Plus's low-nitrogen, high-phosphorus formula mimics the natural nutrient profile of desert soils, promoting compact, healthy growth and encouraging the spectacular blooms that make cacti so rewarding.
How to Use
- Add 7 drops of Schultz Cactus Plus per liter (quart) of water
- Mix thoroughly until completely dissolved
- Water cacti and succulents as usual with the fertilizer solution
- Feed every time you water during the growing season (spring and summer)
- Reduce or stop feeding during winter dormancy
Care Tips for Success
Watering: Allow soil to dry completely between waterings. Overwatering is the #1 killer of cacti and succulents.
Light: Most cacti and succulents prefer bright, direct light. Gradually acclimate plants to prevent sunburn.
Soil: Use well-draining cactus mix to prevent root rot.
Dormancy: Many cacti need a cool, dry winter rest period to bloom. Reduce watering and stop feeding in winter.
The Low-Nitrogen Advantage
The 2-7-7 formula is specifically designed to avoid the problems caused by high-nitrogen fertilizers. By keeping nitrogen low and phosphorus/potassium higher, Schultz Cactus Plus promotes the compact, sturdy growth and vibrant blooms that make cacti and succulents so attractive, while preventing the soft, etiolated growth that leads to rot and disease.
