Our Horticulture Pumice Seed Starter Grit is the perfect substrate to germinate your cactus or succulent seeds. It can also be mixed as an amendment for your cactus or succulent soil mix for your seedlings or used directly. If you are looking to add good drainage to your potting mix, this is the right choice. You can mix 1 part of our Planet Desert Horticultural Pumice and 1 part of your soil mix. Avoid using any soil mix containing big chunks of organic materials like bark.
You can also add a thin layer at the top of your planters. This will help keep the base of your plant dry and it will also help disperse the water evenly when watering it.
For larger plants use our 1/4 inch Horticultural Pumice.
