Philodendron werneri on köynnöstävä viherkasvi, joka hurmaa vihreillä, sydämenmuotoisilla lehdillään. Sen elegantti kasvutapa ja kiipeilevä luonne tekevät siitä ihanteellisen kasvin esimerkiksi sammal- tai tukikepille kasvatettavaksi. Tämä hieman harvinaisempi lajike tuo kotiin tai työtilaan rauhallista vehreyttä ja trooppista viehätystä.

Kasvi lähetetään istutettuna hydrosoraan, 9 cm ruukussa (halkaisija 9 cm, korkeus 7 cm). Hydromittari (09/07) on ostettavissa erikseen. 

Philodendron, köynnösvehkat

Köynnösvehkat ovat laaja ja monipuolinen suku vehkakasveja, johon kuuluu yli 500 lajia. Lajien kasvutapa on kaikkea metsänpohjasta ylöspäin, puiden rungoilla tai latvustosta maata kohti. Köynnösvehkoille on tyypillistä, että nuorena lehdet ovat pieniä ja sydämen muotoisia mutta aikuistuessaan ne kasvattavat suuria näyttäviä lehtiä. Erilaisia kirjavia värivirheitä löytyy valkoisesta, keltaiseen ja jopa punaiseen.

 

Suosittuja perinteisiä Philodendron lajeja ovat Philodendron scandens (herttaköynnösvehka) ja Philodendron erubescens (purppuraköynnösvehka) jonka Imperial Green lajike on ollut klassikko. Molemmat ovat tunnettuja tummanvihreistä lehdistään, jonka ansioista lajit menestyvät hyvin hämärissä sisätiloissa. Isolehtisemmät ja kirjavat lajit vaativat enemmän valoa, kuitenkin välttäen suoraa auringonvaloa.

 

Koska köynnösvehkojen sukuun kuuluu paljon toisistaan poikkeavia kasveja voi hoito-ohjeet poiketa toisistaan Philodendron suvun edustajien välillä. Kaikki viihtyvät epäsuorassa valossa ja kuivahtavat mielellään hieman kastelujen välissä mutta kuinka paljon voi vaihdella. On aina suotavaa vertailla eri hoit ohjeita keskenään uuden kasvin kanssa.
