Why Choose This Chilli Grow Kit?

Want to grow fiery chillies at home? Pronto Seed’s Chilli Duo Grow Kit includes 2 decorative bucket planters and four popular chilli varieties: Anaheim, Cayenne, Jalapeño and Habanero. A fun, practical set that’s perfect for beginners, foodies and home gardeners.

Start Your Chilli Growing Journey

This kit makes it easy to grow chillies indoors or outdoors. Simply sow the seeds in the provided propagator, transplant into the coir-filled buckets, and watch your plants thrive. With the right care, you’ll enjoy months of fresh chillies straight from your windowsill, greenhouse or garden.

What’s Included

  • 2 × 18 cm decorative bucket planters
  • Mini propagator with lid
  • Coir discs and coir block (soil substitute)
  • Sachets of Anaheim, Cayenne, Jalapeño and Habanero seeds
  • Full growing and care guide

Meet the Chillies

  • Anaheim (500–1,000 SHU): Long, slender peppers that ripen from green to red. Mild and versatile in the kitchen.
  • Cayenne (30,000–50,000 SHU): Thin, curved chillies with a rippled skin. Classic for drying or adding heat to dishes.
  • Jalapeño (2,500–8,000 SHU): Plump, green chillies that turn red when ripe. Perfect for salsas and pickling.
  • Habanero (100,000–350,000 SHU): Small, blocky chillies with a wrinkled skin and intense heat. A Caribbean favourite.

How to Grow

Step 1 – Prepare Coir: Add water to expand the coir discs until soft and crumbly.

Step 2 – Sow Seeds: Place 3–4 seeds on the surface, press lightly, and cover with a thin layer of coir.

Step 3 – Germination: Position propagator in a warm, sunny spot. Germination takes 2–3 weeks depending on variety.

Step 4 – Transplant: Move the strongest seedlings into the prepared bucket planters. Handle roots carefully.

Step 5 – Grow On: Place buckets in a sunny location. Chillies can be grown outdoors once frost risk has passed or indoors for a longer season.

Top Tips for Best Results

  • Start early in the season for hotter, heavier crops.
  • Feed with liquid fertiliser once flowers appear and again as fruits swell.
  • Support heavy fruiting branches with canes to avoid breakage.
  • Harvest with scissors to prevent plant damage. Chillies can be used fresh, dried or frozen.

Why We Love It

More than just a grow kit, this duo set makes a unique gift for chilli lovers and foodies. With four distinct varieties and two stylish bucket planters, it’s a rewarding project that delivers months of fresh, homegrown flavour.

Not suitable for consumption. Store seeds in a cool, dry place and sow within the season of purchase. Full sowing guide included inside box.

So far so good
Color: Brown
I have had issues with other models/variations of the timex expedition in the past, so I was hesitant to get an even more expensive version of it, but I just really liked this watch so I gave it a shot. I was looking for a new “daily driver” watch as I have a bunch of nicer, more expensive watches that I didn’t want to wear to work at a hospital. I like the solar charging feature for sure as I change my own watch batteries and it can be a pain sometimes. It’s a nice weighty watch, which I like because it feels solid, not cheap. So far it seems to be keeping time well, which is an issue I’ve had with other expeditions in the past. I really like the look of this watch a lot. It’s a sharp looking watch without being too flashy or fancy so it can be worn with just about any attire. I will note that because of the solar feature, it needs to be charged well before setting the time. I placed it under a led light for about 24 hours before setting the time and using it and when I don’t wear it I place it near a window. So far I’m really liking it, but I haven’t had it long enough to really know about long-term reliability. I will update if any issues arise.

Timex Expedition Solar a no frills fine watch
Color: Brown/Blue
The watch came uncharged. I guess you're supposed to charge the watch by exposing it to sunlight. There was no sunlight and I wasn't about to wait for any. I placed it in front of one of my ultra-bright led flashlights for about 5 hours that night. It's been working fine ever since. I'll expose it to sunlight when I see some. It's a nice looking watch, no bells and whistles but it's been keeping excellent time. I swapped out the band for a NATO which I find more dependable. The price shouldn't put you in the poor house and if it's like all the other Timex watches I've owned, I'll be happy with it.

Great watch. Janky quartz. Bad strap.
Color: Brown
It’s got all the specs one could want in a field watch, but I can’t get over the janky quartz movement. The second hand overshoots and undershoots the second markers notably throughout its rotation. Also, the leather strap provided does not age well, it turns a dark brown and develops cracks in short order. Still, especially if nabbed on sale, the watch is well worth it and will probably outlive the wearer.

A nice durable non flashy field watch.
Color: Olive/Gunmetal, Color: Olive/Gunmetal
A nice looking, none flashy field watch. At 41mm it’s not too big and not too small. The sapphire crystal is a big plus on scratch resistance; and the screw in crown is a nice addition as well. If you’re looking for a low key, reliable solar powered field watch that is both comfortable, affordable and has durability built into it, this one will be hard to beat.
