Origin: Philodendron erubescens, also known as red philodendron or red-leaf philodendron, is native to Colombia. It is prized for its red stems and heart-shaped leaves.

Growth: This climbing plant can reach a height of 3 to 6 meters in the wild, but generally remains more compact indoors. Its leaves can measure up to 40 cm in length and have distinctive pink marbling.

Flowers: Indoors, flowering is rare. The flowers, when they appear, are dark red spathes about 15 cm long.

Light: Prefers bright indirect light. Insufficient exposure may reduce the pink variegation of the leaves.

Watering: Allow the top half of the soil to dry out between waterings to avoid excess moisture, which can lead to root rot. Generally, weekly watering in spring and summer, and every one to two weeks in fall and winter is recommended.
