Botanical Label

  • Common name: Monstera Adansonii 'Swiss Cheese'
  • Botanical name: Monstera Adansonii 'Swiss Cheese'
  • Pot size: 2", 3", 4", 6" or 8" nursery pot (choose at checkout)
  • Light: Bright to medium, indirect; no harsh direct sun
  • Water: when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry.
  • Difficulty: Beginner-friendly to moderate.
  • Growth style: Climbing/vining tropical aroid.
  • Mature size: Can grow large or long over time, especially with support — can vary by growing conditions.
  • Lifespan: Can live for many years with regular care — varies by growing conditions.
  • Pet safety: Not pet-safe — toxic to cats and dogs if chewed. Keep out of reach of pets.
  • Best for: Climbing a moss pole, bright rooms, shelves, and plant stands.
  • Vibe/personality: Lush, tropical, jungle statement.

Curator's Note: Monstera Adansonii 'Swiss Cheese' makes a real statement — bold, architectural foliage that grows more dramatic as it matures. It brings an instant jungle feel to a room while staying surprisingly easy to live with.

Why It Belongs in Your Collection

  • Striking, tropical foliage that makes a statement
  • Climbs a moss pole into a lush, jungle look
  • Develops dramatic split or hole-filled leaves as it matures
  • Easy to propagate from stem cuttings
  • Rewarding to watch grow and mature
  • Adds a cozy, tropical feel to a room

Care Notes from the Greenhouse

  • Light: Bright, indirect light keeps Monstera Adansonii 'Swiss Cheese' looking its best, but it can tolerate medium indirect light. In lower light it grows more slowly and leaves may show fewer splits. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry — it likes to dry out a bit between waterings rather than stay soggy. Empty any saucer so the roots don't sit in water.
  • Humidity: Loves higher humidity as a tropical aroid, but adapts to normal household humidity; extra humidity supports bigger, more fenestrated leaves.
  • Temperature: Typical room temperatures (roughly 65–85°F). Keep it away from cold drafts and heating or AC vents.
  • Soil: A chunky, well-draining aroid mix (potting soil with bark and perlite) in a pot with drainage.
  • Support: Give it a moss pole or trellis to climb — climbing encourages larger, more mature leaves.
  • Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer in spring and summer; pause in winter.
  • Pruning: Trim to shape anytime; stem cuttings with a node root easily in water.
  • Care tip: If leaves stay small or sparse, give it more bright indirect light and a pole to climb.

Best Display Spots

  • Bright living-room corner with a moss pole: let it climb into a statement.
  • Shelf or plant stand: trailing types spill over beautifully.
  • Near an east or north window: bright, indirect light without harsh sun.
  • Bathroom or kitchen (if bright): enjoys the extra humidity.
  • Office with good indirect light: an easy tropical accent.

Best For / Think Twice If

Best for:

  • Philodendron and aroid fans
  • Bright, indirect-light spots
  • People who enjoy watching a plant grow and mature
  • Statement-foliage lovers
  • Beginners ready for an easygoing climber

Think twice if:

  • Homes where pets may chew leaves — it is toxic to cats and dogs
  • Very dark rooms
  • Anyone who tends to overwater plants
  • Shoppers wanting a compact plant that stays small

Botanical Exhibit Notes

  • It's a climbing tropical aroid (family Araceae) — happiest with something to climb, like a moss pole or trellis.
  • Aroids like this are easy to propagate — a stem cutting with a node roots readily in water or soil.
  • In good light it grows quickly through the warm months, pushing out fresh leaves.
  • As it matures and climbs, its leaves develop the splits or holes (fenestrations) this group is famous for — though this can vary by plant and conditions.
  • Given a moss pole and bright indirect light, its leaves tend to get larger as the plant climbs.

From Our Greenhouse to Your Home

Florida Plant ships across the United States. Your plant ships from Florida and California, USA, carefully packed in its nursery pot with soil unless noted. Orders dispatch within 1–4 business days, early in the week so plants don't sit over a weekend in transit.

During cold weather, orders to colder areas are sent with a heat pack, and we may hold delivery to very cold areas until it's safe to ship. Every plant is backed by our 48-hour live-arrival guarantee — contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos if there's an issue.

Because this is a live plant, each one is unique — size, fullness, color, and shape vary naturally, and minor cosmetic imperfections can happen. Give your plant a little time to settle in after it arrives.

Pretty Darn Good
Format: Kindle
So I’ve been on a omega kick and this definitely hit the spot. Madison was frustrating at times with how she acted towards Lucas, Gray, and Rian. It was like she said towards the end, she didn’t believe she deserved nice things. It would have been nice to hear from her best friends again. They kind of were there in the beginning and the gone except for mention of text messages received from them. I feel like her friends would have been great help in encouraging Madison to go with the pack and never give Brent another chance because he was toxic. I loved Rian. His personality was awesome. His humor. His ability to make Madison comfortable whenever she was feeling overwhelmed. And the fact he fell for her and she fell for him first. They are cute together. I do feel like Lucas was the odd man out though. Like Lucas didn’t develop as much of a relationship with Madison. I would have really liked to see more development in the relationship between them. It was also the same with him and Rian. There is really no relationship displayed. Most of the relationship being displayed is between Rian and Gray. Nevertheless, I loved reading about the dynamic that came to fruition during the entirety of this story. Madison finally got her happiness. And Brent finally got punched in the face. Everyone got exactly what they deserve.

Pack's Promise was okay but not great
Format: Kindle
Pack's Promise was okay but not great. I won't recommend it to anyone that I know. PRO: * Very likable characters * Lots of steamy scenes that are written very well * The spelling and grammar are good * The punctuation is good with the exception of using hyphens instead of commas. Lots of hyphens. Lots and lots of hyphens. CON: * Almost no interactions with any characters outside of Madison and the pack * Nearly no plot. They meet, get together for a heat, agree to make it permanent, done * Quite a few typos such as extraneous words, missing words and words out of order THINGS TO KNOW: * More steamy scenes than storytelling * A lot of MM & MMM, some MFMM during heat

Fluffy and Nice Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
… this would have made 5 stars but for 2 reasons. A.) there were quite a few typos; misspelled words, missing quotations, “the his” mistakes, and various signs that maybe a proofread would do good. B.) the writing was quite textbook. Late blooming omega is struggling with her new self, finds a absurdly wealthy pack of alphas, every thing is almost insta-love but she resists, then decides to love herself and let everyone be happy. Rian was my favourite (obviously the author’s favourite too because he got the most page time) but I wish we could see more of his CEO side? He went to work maybe ONCE the entire time. Gray was supposed to be the “growly one” but he turned out to be puppy dog. Lucas was a genius brainiac doctor - but also super alpha with an aggressive hindbrain with a breeding k*nk?? And then there was no actual “breeding”?? Spice 3/5 - normally omegaverse books are super high on messy smut but this was tamer. Romance 3/5 - insta-love that was then resisted because of personal hangup’s Plot 2/5 - weird paced head hopping, showing the same scene from different POV’s that made me feel like it was 2 steps backward, 1 step forward. Humour 4/5 - there were a dozen lines that genuinely made me chuckle out loud Would have been five stars but the lack of proofreading and the predictable plot made me unable to get up to ADORED IT level - four stars is still and official ENJOYED IT, y’all. This isn’t a bad rating. The “Club Heat” has intriguing possibilities so I’m going to give the second one a shot.
