The Cossack Pineapple ground cherry gets its name from its pineapple flavour and lemon colour. Naturally high in pectin, they make excellent preserves and pies as well.

Cossack Pineapples are one of the few varieties of ground cherries that are still grown commercially. They are most commonly found in farmers' markets and specialty stores. Cossack Pineapples are frost-tender annual plants.
