A magical mini-tree for modern European homes
Crassula ovata 'Magical Tree' | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU | Pet-safe (with caution)
Summary: This sculptural succulent brings a touch of Zen to any space with its thick jade-green leaves and bonsai-like growth. A perfect low-maintenance plant for German apartments and bright European interiors.
✨ Why You'll Love Crassula ovata 'Magical Tree'
- Develops a charming tree-like trunk with fleshy, glossy foliage
- Thrives on neglect—ideal for busy plant lovers and beginners
- Compact and tidy—perfect for desks, bookshelves, or windowsills
- Grown locally in the EU for optimal climate compatibility
- Pet-safe with caution: best kept out of reach of curious animals
🌞 Light & Placement
Crassula ovata loves bright light and can tolerate some direct sun. A south or west-facing windowsill is perfect. Avoid dim corners to keep its shape compact and leaves vibrant.
💧 Water & Humidity
Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly—every 3 to 4 weeks in summer, even less in winter. Average indoor humidity is just right; no misting required.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Use a cactus or succulent mix with excellent drainage. A pot with drainage holes is essential to avoid root rot. Repot every 2–3 years or when root-bound.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
While often labeled as pet-safe, Crassula ovata can be mildly toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets to be safe, especially in homes with curious cats or dogs.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Slow-growing with a beautiful branching form over time. Propagate easily via stem or leaf cuttings—let them callous, then place in dry soil until roots form.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
During spring and summer, offer bright light and a touch of succulent fertilizer once per season. In winter, reduce watering and keep in cooler indoor temps for dormancy support. Bring indoors if temperatures drop below 5 °C.
🐛 Common Issues
- Soft, mushy leaves = overwatering
- Pale or dropping leaves = too little light or too much water
- White cottony patches = mealybugs—remove early and isolate if needed
🧬 Botanical Background
Native to South Africa, Crassula ovata is beloved worldwide for its resilience and symbolism of prosperity. The 'Magical Tree' cultivar is specially selected for its compact, upright habit—bringing a peaceful, structured look to any European home.
