Buckle and Strap Tree Ties
Ours are black plastic buckle and rubber strap with a safety buffer to hold your trees to their stake without the risk of the tree rubbing against the stake. Use one per tree to hold it safely while it establishes. Tree ties should be quite tight around the trunk of the tree but not so tight that the tree can't expand. Check them a few times a year to tighten or loosen them as necessary. Apply the tie low down - no more than 60cm above ground level (even for a tall tree).
After about 18-24 months, remember to remove the tie & its stake. If you don't do this, the tie could choke the tree or the trunk could chafe against the stake and damage the bark.
Save money when you buy a tree tie, tree stake and biodegradable mulch mat together in our tree planting pack.
These ties are used for holding Standard trees and Half Standard & Bush sized Fruit Trees to their supporting stake.
