A bold splash of colour for your urban jungle
Philodendron 'Painted Lady' (Medium) | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU
Summary: With its neon-green, speckled leaves and pinkish-red stems, Philodendron 'Painted Lady' is a true showstopper. This medium-sized beauty (H30, P12) adds tropical drama to German apartments and European homes.
✨ Why You'll Love the Philodendron 'Painted Lady'
- Vibrant chartreuse foliage with golden speckles—each leaf looks hand-painted
- Striking pink to red stems for extra colour contrast
- Easy to care for, making it suitable for both beginners and collectors
- Climbing growth habit—perfect for moss poles or trellises indoors
🌞 Light & Placement
Thrives in bright, indirect light to maintain its vivid variegation. Too little light may cause leaves to lose their speckles, while direct sun may scorch them. Place near a bright east- or south-facing window with filtered light.
💧 Water & Humidity
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feel dry. 'Painted Lady' enjoys moderate to high humidity (60%+), making it perfect for EU homes with occasional misting or a humidifier nearby.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Use a chunky aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir to support healthy roots. Provide a moss pole to encourage upright growth and larger leaves.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Philodendron 'Painted Lady' is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats, dogs, and children.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
This climbing philodendron grows quickly in good conditions. Propagate via stem cuttings with at least one node, ideally in spring or early summer.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser. In winter, reduce watering and pause fertilising as growth naturally slows.
🐛 Common Issues
- Leggy growth: caused by insufficient light
- Yellow leaves: usually a sign of overwatering
- Pest risks: mealybugs or spider mites in dry conditions—wipe leaves regularly to prevent infestations
🧬 Botanical Background
Philodendron 'Painted Lady' is a hybrid cultivar, admired for its vibrant foliage and ease of care. Loved by collectors worldwide, it’s one of the most colourful philodendrons available in the European houseplant market.
