'Tigermoon' is a striking double-flowered tiger lily variety that graces gardens in mid to late summer. Its large, nodding blooms feature layers of sunny yellow petals, each speckled with distinctive maroon spots, creating a dramatic and eye-catching display. The flowers are not only visually appealing but also emit a pleasant fragrance, making them a delightful addition to any garden setting.
This robust lily thrives in a variety of garden settings, including mixed borders, cottage gardens, and containers. Its tall, sturdy stems make it an excellent choice for the back of borders, where it can rise above shorter plants, adding vertical interest. 'Tigermoon' is also well-suited for use as a cut flower, bringing its vibrant color and fragrance indoors.
Lilies are cherished for their elegance and versatility in the garden. They prefer well-drained soils and benefit from a layer of mulch to keep their roots cool. While 'Tigermoon' is hardy and can withstand cold winters, providing a sheltered spot will protect it from strong winds that could damage its tall stems. With proper care, this lily will return year after year, offering its splendid blooms each summer.
