A semi-DIY kit for your bonsai trees, this mix is designed to be used in small quantities, so it holds extra water and is stuffed to the brim with goodness. Use the included pumice to adjust moisture retention or as a decorative top dressing.

Kit includes soil and pumice in the following amounts:

Generous quart: 1 'quart' of soil (~6 cups) plus small package pumice (~1.5 cups)
2-gallon: 2 gallons soil, 2 generous quarts pumice
10gallon bulk: 10 gallons soil, ~2 gallons pumice

How to use: for tropical bonsais or trees in extremely small pots, use this blend by itself. For bonsais that require less water or prefer a rockier soil, add pumice. INDOORS: For conifers, I like to use 1 part pumice for every 2 to 3 parts soil. For ficus and other tropicals, I use the soil straight, or add 1 part pumice for ever 4 to 5 parts soil.

Please be aware that a bonsai that lives outside will require more water than an indoor plant, and mix accordingly.
