How to Grow Moringa in the Indian Climate:
- Climate: Moringa thrives in tropical and subtropical climates. It prefers temperatures between 25°C to 35°C and can tolerate light frost.
- Soil: Well-drained sandy or loamy soil is ideal. The plant can grow in poor soil conditions but performs best in nutrient-rich soil with a pH between 6.5 and 7.5.
- Watering: Water the plants regularly but avoid waterlogging. During dry periods, water them deeply once a week.
- Sunlight: Moringa requires full sunlight to grow well. Ensure it gets at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- Fertilization: Apply a balanced organic fertilizer during the growing season. Compost or manure can also be used to enrich the soil.
- Pruning: Regular pruning helps in maintaining the tree’s height and encourages more leaf and pod production. Remove dead or diseased branches to promote healthy growth.
