Philodendron hederaceum var. oxycardium 'Brasil' XL Moss Pole Tower | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU | Not pet-safe
Summary: The XL Philodendron 'Brasil' Moss Pole Tower (P27, H150 cm) is a breathtaking showpiece with cascading heart-shaped leaves striped in vivid lime and gold. A true jungle statement for German apartments and European homes, it transforms your interior into a tropical sanctuary.
✨ Why You'll Love the Philodendron 'Brasil' XL Moss Pole Tower
- Massive size (P27, H150 cm) — an instant centerpiece for any room
- Striking heart-shaped foliage with bold lime and golden streaks
- Trained on a sturdy moss pole for upright, dramatic growth
- Air-purifying qualities for a fresher, healthier home environment
🌞 Light & Placement
Place in bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant variegation. It tolerates medium light but may lose some of its golden tones. Perfect as a floor-standing statement piece in living rooms, offices, or hallways across Europe.
💧 Water & Humidity
Water when the top 3–4 cm of soil feels dry. The larger pot size retains moisture longer, so check soil carefully before watering. Loves moderate humidity but adapts well to average European homes. Misting the moss pole encourages aerial roots to attach and climb.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix with bark, perlite, and coco coir to support its strong root system. Given its XL size, repotting is rarely needed but refreshing the top layer of soil annually will keep it thriving.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Not pet-safe. Keep away from cats, dogs, and children, as ingestion may cause irritation.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
This XL moss pole tower is already a mature and established specimen. It will continue to climb and produce larger, more dramatic leaves with proper care. Propagate by stem cuttings from healthy vines to grow smaller plants.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
Fertilize every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer. Reduce feeding in winter. Rotate occasionally to ensure even light exposure and symmetrical growth.
🐛 Common Issues
- Fading variegation: Increase indirect light exposure.
- Drooping leaves: Often a sign of underwatering—check soil moisture.
- Yellowing leaves: Can be caused by overwatering or poor drainage.
🧬 Botanical Background
The Philodendron 'Brasil' is a variegated cultivar of Philodendron hederaceum var. oxycardium, native to the tropical forests of Central and South America. Its vivid green and yellow foliage recalls the Brazilian flag, making it a striking favourite in European interiors, especially in XL statement sizes.
