Aglaonema 'Osaka' is a houseplant popular for its elegant, colorful leaves, marked with green and silver patterns. Ideal for adding a touch of sophisticated greenery to any room, this plant is also known for its hardiness and ability to purify the air.
Origin: Aglaonema 'Osaka' is native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Southeast Asia. It grows naturally in humid forests where it benefits from the shade of trees.
Growth: This plant has moderate growth and can reach a height of 60 to 80 cm. The leaves are broad and elongated, growing in compact rosettes that form a dense and lush clump.
Flowers: Although primarily grown for its foliage, Aglaonema 'Osaka' can produce small, white, spathe-like flowers similar to those of other members of the Araceae family. The flowers are inconspicuous and do not add much aesthetic appeal to the plant.
Light: Aglaonema 'Osaka' prefers indirect, moderate light. It tolerates low light conditions well, making it an excellent plant for dimly lit interiors. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.
Watering: Water regularly to keep the soil slightly moist, but not soggy. In winter, reduce watering frequency slightly. It is important to ensure that the soil does not dry out completely between waterings.
Substrate: Use a quality houseplant potting mix that provides good drainage. A mixture of houseplant potting mix with a little perlite or vermiculite can improve soil aeration.
Toxicity: Aglaonema 'Osaka' is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. It is advisable to keep it out of reach of children and pets.
