Aglaonema commutatum 'Tom's Pride' is a compact, finely patterned Chinese evergreen with lance-shaped leaves marbled in bold cream and silver against a rich, dark green background. As with all Aglaonemas, 'Tom's Pride' is famously forgiving of lower light levels and inconsistent watering, making it one of the easiest statement plants you can grow for a dim office, bathroom, or bedroom corner.
Origins
Aglaonema commutatum is native to the Philippines and Sulawesi (Indonesia), where it grows in shaded, humid rainforest understorey conditions on deep, organic soils. 'Tom's Pride' is a cultivated selection prized for its especially bold cream marbling and compact, well-behaved habit.
Soil and Substrate
A. commutatum prefers a rich, moisture-retentive yet well-draining substrate that supports its fibrous roots. Our Simply Houseplant Mix is therefore well suited.
