Unlike the traditional Crassula Jade, Portulacaria afra is a distinct species valued for its faster growth, superior drought tolerance, and dense, bushy structure. It is widely used for bonsai, rock gardens, patio containers, and modern indoor styling, making it one of the most versatile succulents available to Australian gardeners.
Well suited to Australian conditions, this plant performs exceptionally well in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia, thriving in warm, dry climates and adapting easily to a range of growing environments.
