The Holy Grail vintage Meyer design is Newly Updated!

In 2015 we introduced the NY Bros mouthpiece, Theo Wanne's reimagining of the classic vintage Meyer-style design. Now, after 10 years of researching, reworking and refining, we've given it an overhaul - creating a sound with more core and an even better response. If you love that vintage jazz sound of the 1950s and 1960s, this is the modern mouthpiece you need to have.

Theo Wanne, the world’s foremost expert on vintage sax mouthpieces, travels the world giving clinics and teaching mouthpiece design and refacing. This has led to further understanding of what makes the traditional Meyer design so great, and updates in both the baffle and chamber shapes!

In addition, the Theo Wanne™ factory in Bellingham, WA USA has also been further advancing mouthpiece manufacturing techniques. The updated design and manufacturing has resulted in the NYBROS III! You will notice even more core and aliveness in the sound! Truly the ultimate vintage Meyer!

REVIEWS & TESTIMONIALS

I was playing the same Meyer alto mouthpiece for 30 years, until now. I love the NYBROS alto mouthpiece. It does everything my vintage Meyer did, but is even from top to Bottom, and has excellent projection. In my show, even after hours of playing I don’t want to stop playing…I just want to keep playing. I love this experience!!!!”Cesar Lopez ( Grand Prize in Cubadisco – most important event in Cuban music,Best jazz album, 6x Cuban awards, worked with Tito Puente, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea)

“It’s a huge round hard rubber sound with lots of edge.   Couldn’t be any better.   Also the facings of my 2 (alto) pieces are 8 (NYBros) and 9 (KALI Gold), close enough to use the same reed and the shanks are identical so they both fit my cork.  Tell Theo that my biggest endorsement of them (as someone that actually makes their living playing) is that in spite of having 2 completely different tones, they feel very very very similar.   So Monday night pop/contemporary gig I use the Kali, then get called Tuesday for a big band gig and I can use the same reed on the NY Bros and be just as comfortable.      Otherwise I would never go through the BS of keeping 2 sets of reeds ready to go at all times.” – Steve Dawson (Terry Fator show)

The NYBROS was incredibly in tune (spot on) and played better than any Meyer I ever played.  The NYBROS actually surpasses my old vintage Meyer Bros. alto mouthpiece.” Jimmy Haag (Dianna Ross,  Lou Rawls, Tommy Dorsey)

“WOW! This is the best playing Meyer mouthpiece I have ever played…that includes all the vintage ones, and all the new ‘copies’ out there!” – Daniel

“Everyone I let try my NYBROS wants it!  Jeez!” – John

“But that NYBROS. F&*%# me!” – John Roggensack

“Huge sound on the darker side of things with lots of projection. Nice amount of resistance so you can really put some air into the horn. Great altissimo & body to the sound!” – Jason Weber

“That is a Great full darker sound w/plenty of projection. The whole range from lower register to altissimo sounds great. You can hardly tell where 1 register ends and the next begins.” – Larry Weintraub

“The best of all Meyer style mouthpieces out there by far!” – Lars H

“I have recently acquired a NY Bros. 2 Alto mouthpiece (tip opening 5) from Theo Wann. I’ve been playing for 50 years and have played on dozens of alto mouthpieces and I am very impressed by this mouthpiece. Here’s why: 1. Clear tone throughout the range of the horn w/out too much brightness.  2. A warm tone, rich in overtones is possible making this mouthpiece useful in concert situations as well as big band or straight ahead jazz playing.  3. Ease of articulation and outstanding intonation is possible.  4. The top tones on the horn don’t thin out on this mouthpiece but actually play as fully as the rest of the horn.  5. This mouthpiece is reed friendly. Every reed that I put on it, even older, well played reeds, play easily.  6. There seems to be just enough resistance to to make dynamic variations as subtle or as dramatic as you wish.” – Dominick Minni (musician, educator.  Philadelphia, PA)

“But that NYBROS. F&*%# me!” – John Roggensack

“Yeah, it’s a great piece. I’ve had it for about 4 months now and it’s still opening up and showing me new things that it can do. Love it!” – Rob Stone

“All I can say is, WOW!! If you’re looking for a Meyer type of piece with an extra bit of power, you gotta check the NYBROS out! It has a beautiful core sound with a little bit of edge (but not too much) to help the sound cut through. This is also a very easy playing piece. I didn’t have to make any adjustments to my embouchure or airstream to get to my sound. I don’t know all the technical jargon for what makes a good (great) mouthpiece. I just put the mouthpiece on the horn and blow. Either it will play well or it won’t. This one feels and sounds great!! If you’re looking for a jazz alto piece you should definitely give Theo a call and check out one of these!” – Charles McNeal

Well I’ve had chance to play the NYB 5 and 6 now. I’d like to be able to say that I’m pleasantly surprised at how good they are, but frankly I’m not. Any surprise that Theo’s pieces are excellent vanished many years ago, and these are no exception! The NYBROS is golden! For many years I’ve used a very good Meyer which I picked out from about 12 new pieces in a big London woodwind store in the early 90’s. The Meyer is a classic design and for a certain sound they’re unbeatable. Or rather, were unbeatable! These new NYBROS pieces have that great Meyer core sound which is so good for lead alto, but add a clarity and volume which are just not present in any Meyer that I’ve ever played. They really are a Super Meyer! I’d like to be able to say that I’m pleasantly surprised at how good they are, but frankly I’m not. Any surprise that Theo’s pieces are excellent vanished many years ago, and these are no exception!” – Michael Ford

“Please thank Theo for his awesome mouthpiece – I absolutely love it and my teacher commented on how good I was sounding at my lesson last night (it was the first time I’d played it at lesson)!” – Matthew Link

“LOVE IT! I was looking for more projection for blues/rock/funk while still maintaining a warm, round, centered tone that my Meyer 5 Richie Cole gave me for jazz music and the NY Bros 7 piece delivered! It was a bit brighter than I was expecting, most in the upper register, but given an adjusted ligature and reed combo as well as time for my embouchure to adjust, I really love this piece! Previously, I had found it difficult to leave my tried and true Meyer that I’ve been playing for 10+ years, but I jumped on the Theo Wanne mouthpiece train now and am searching for soprano and tenor pieces too! Thank you Theo Wanne!!” – Vanessa C

“I recently updated my alto mouthpiece to a NY Bros. WOW! What really amazed me was not only was it a great big sound with incredible response, but how versatile it is. As a studio musician, I need to be able to play a variety of genres and this mouthpiece can do it all. Very humbly, people have said that my alto sound is a cross between Cannonball and Phil Woods (now, if my brain would only think like theirs!). This mouthpiece is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Just incredible!” – Russ Scotti

“My TW NY BROS alto mouthpiece, 6, arrived yesterday. WOW! Over the top. Exactly the sound I was listening for. I have arrived.” – Will Turner

“I just purchased your Theo Wanne NY Bros Alto 6 mouthpiece. I just want to tell you how fantastic it is …. it’s so responsive … I love it.” – Linda Blaine

“I’ve been playing for 50 years and have played on dozens of alto mouthpieces and I am very impressed by the NYBros 2. 6. There seems to be just enough resistance to to make dynamic variations as subtle or as dramatic as you wish.” – Dominick Minni (Musician & Educator in Philadelphia, PA)

“The NYBROS does it all! I am practicing more than in I have in years. It is so nice to play on gear that lets me think more about expressing myself than having to fight to overcome a stuffy unresponsive instrument!!!!” – Dan Claremont

“I recently purchased a Theo Wanne Myers Bros NY 7 alto saxophone mouthpiece. I’ve have gone through a lot of mouthpieces over the years, and I have to say this is the best one I’ve played on. The feel, the tone and response are excellent!” – John Webster

“Recently purchased a Slant SIG Tenor 8 HR mouthpiece and a New York Bros 2 Alto HR mouthpiece. These are both incredible mouthpieces for tone, projection, ease of use and transferring between instruments. I’ve been playing saxophone since 1963 and these are probably the best mouthpieces I’ve used. I’m not a professional any more but I do play every Sunday in the praise band at church and do some occasional recording. Like I said -a great sound. I’m saving my dimes and nickels so I can pick up a Theo Wanne for my soprano sax!”– Joel Sheetz

Avoid this device – A costly mistake that restricts your access
I purchased the Amazon Fire TV Cube hoping to streamline my home entertainment, but it has been a total disappointment and a waste of hours trying to set it up. It is not compatible with my TDS TV+, one of the largest providers. The Amazon Fire TV Cube is garbage that just wants to sell a bunch of apps. I am returning this immediately, and I strongly urge others to stay away. This device is a total rip-off. It effectively tries to force you into an ecosystem where you are pushed toward paid subscription services just to access basic local channels you should already be able to watch. It feels like a transparent attempt by Amazon to control and monetize your viewing habits, creating massive, unnecessary fees for content that is already included in standard service packages. If you value your time and your money, look for a more open, compatible alternative. Do not buy this product unless you are looking for an expensive subscription trap.

Plug and play with a smallish FireTv in a bedroom. Sounds great and works seamlessly with a FireTv remote using the included HDMI/arc cable. Exactly what I needed at a great price.

Good soundbar for a bedroom
Configuration: Fire TV Soundbar
I own a Fire TV (not the stick) and kept having volume issues on everything so finally picked up this sound bar by Amazon. It's an excellent value for the price on Black Friday / Cyber Monday. Football games, TV shows, Netflix movies &, Amazon prime now sound clear and good and the movies get brought to life with bass. Just don't expect the movie experience to be like your media room or main TV where you have a proper audio setup. This is meant for a bedroom not a family room. When doing setup be sure to select eArch in the FireTV audio settings I found if you leave it set as AUTO the SoundBar tends not to automatical turn off. Pros: Setup is simple and takes five minutes or less (unless ur doing a wall mount). Mine is setting on a TV cabinet. The original FireTV remote works with out needing to switch to the one that is in the box (unless want to change the EQ settings). Came with an HDMI cable as most sound bars by the bigger brands do not include one. Sound quality is impressive along with the bass (I haven't changed any settings).. I do car audio installations I was impressed by the bass as to no subwoofer. It's not going to rock the room but for a bedroom it provides enough. If you expected to shake the room then you need the Amazon 3.1 soundbar which is made for a family room. Bluetooth audio also sounds great when connected to a mobile phone as the source. Cons: Seems a few times the volume settings has a lag when you increase or decrease the volume by a few seconds. Final impression: I found it to be a good purchase with good sound quality.

A Solid Entry-Level Option!
Configuration: Fire TV Soundbar, Configuration: Fire TV Soundbar
The Amazon Fire TV Soundbar offers a decent audio upgrade for those looking to improve their TV's built-in sound without breaking the bank. Dolby Audio, along with the convenience of Fire TV integration. However, it's important to have realistic expectations given its price point. What's Good: Easy Setup: Connecting the soundbar is a breeze, especially if you already have a Fire TV device. The setup process is guided and intuitive. Fire TV Integration: This is a major selling point. Seamlessly controlling the soundbar with your Fire TV remote is incredibly convenient. No juggling multiple remotes! Improved Sound over TV Speakers: The soundbar definitely provides a noticeable improvement in clarity and depth compared to most television speakers. Dialogue is clearer, and the overall soundstage is wider. Compact Size: The soundbar's slim profile fits nicely under most TVs without being intrusive. Affordable Price: This is a budget-friendly option for those wanting better sound without a huge investment. Bluetooth Connectivity: The ability to stream music wirelessly from your phone or other Bluetooth devices is a welcome addition. What's Not So Good: Limited Bass: Being a 2.0 system, the bass response is somewhat lacking. While it adds some low-end presence, it won't satisfy those looking for deep, rumbling bass for action movies or music. Consider a subwoofer if bass is a priority. Virtual Surround Sound: While DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Audio are present, the simulated surround sound effect is subtle. Don't expect a truly immersive experience. It provides a slightly wider soundstage, but it's not a replacement for a dedicated surround sound system. Sound Quality Could Be Better: While better than TV speakers, the overall sound quality is adequate, not exceptional. The mid-range can sometimes sound a bit muddy. Limited Connectivity: The soundbar primarily focuses on Fire TV integration. While it has Bluetooth, it lacks other input options like HDMI ARC, which could limit its versatility. Overall: The Amazon Fire TV Soundbar is a good entry-level soundbar for those primarily focused on improving the audio from their Fire TV and who are on a budget. The seamless Fire TV integration and improved dialogue clarity are its strongest points. However, if you're a serious audiophile or crave powerful bass, you'll likely need to spend more for a higher-end system. This soundbar is best suited for casual viewers who want a simple and affordable upgrade to their TV's built-in speakers.
