ロンドンを拠点に活動する3ピースバンド、Still House Plants。気鋭レーベル〈bison〉からリリースされた本作は、前作『Fast Edit』で感じられたコラージュ的な要素が薄まり、バンドとしての呼吸やまとまりがより自然に立ち上がってくる作品になっている。メンバー全員がロンドンに住むようになり、同じ空間で音を出す機会が増えたことも影響しているのだろう。サウンド面でも、ドライで平面的だった前作（それはそれでかっこいい）と比べ、今作はより密度があり立体的。耳に触れるディテールは柔らかく、温度を帯びている。「Sticky」のように、余白と余韻を感じさせるメロウで美しい曲も印象的で、抑制のきいたトーンの中で揺れるニュアンスが心地よく響く。Finlay Clarkのギターはスモーキーさと瑞々しさを、David Kennedyのドラムはストイックさと変則性を、そしてJessica Hickie-Kallenbachのヴォーカルは胸を締めつけるような切なさと芯から灯るような力強さをあわせ持っている。こうした相反するニュアンスを抱える3人が、互いの音に耳を傾け、時折重なり合うことで、Still House Plantsというバンドを語るときに思い浮かぶ “荒廃の中にある絶対的な美” が輪郭を帯びていく。
