Description

A showpiece with bite. Black Olive (Capsicum annuum) is an ornamental edible distinguished by deep purple-black foliage and glossy fruit that shifts from inky violet to wine-red at maturity. Heat is lively and clean, typically 10,000 to 30,000 Scoville units, with bright peppery flavor that plays well in the kitchen.

Plants are compact and dramatic, usually 18 to 24 inches tall, with a tidy, upright habit that loads each node with blossoms and fruit. The leaves emerge green, then darken to near black in full sun, setting off clusters of small, conical pods held upright above the canopy. Pods average 1 to 2 inches, with thin to medium walls that dry quickly for flakes or powder. As they ripen, you can enjoy a full gradient on a single plant, from purple-black through mahogany to rich red.

Taste a slice and the heat arrives promptly, a quick spark that builds to medium-hot, balanced by fresh, green-herb notes that turn a little sweeter at full red. In the kitchen, mince for salsas and stir-fries, or dry for striking confetti-like flakes. The pods also shine in quick pickles and chili oils, where their color and brightness carry through.

Bred from ornamental-culinary lines of C. annuum and rooted in the species domesticated by Indigenous farmers of Mesoamerica, Black Olive brings modern garden drama without sacrificing usefulness. It is a reliable, heavy-setting variety that turns containers and borders into living art while supplying plenty of flavorful heat for everyday cooking.

Works Well, Easy to Clean, Just Watch Stove Temp
Color: Linen Gray
I bought this set to replace a stainless steel set I have after the nickel in the stainless steel cookware starting leeching into my food and causing some pretty severe reactions. I made sure to read the instructions that came with this ceramic-coated cookware before use, and made a note to not heat it on high - I have cast iron for that anyway. I appreciate how light weight this cookware is, and how easy it is to clean with soap and water - I don't put my cookware in the dishwasher. So far it appears to work well making sauces, heating vegetables, cooking pasta, but I do have to plan a little extra time to get water to boil, of course. One thought for the designers - it would be helpful if the lids fit more than 1 pot. It would be nice, for instance, for the large pot lid to fit the large skillet for sauces that need to simmer and/or reduce for a while. Overall, this cookware is an extremely good value and I'd purchase it again.

Great value, well made, but get the stainless ones for max performance on induction.
Color: Ivory
Good quality but they don't heat up as fast as the stainless steel amazon basics cookware i also have, my induction stove can boil water in less than 2 minutes with stainless, but the ceramic takes much longer, but still fast. I'm not sure of how much safer the ceramic is vs teflon pans, as ceramic is not a standardized thing. Overall i'm pleased and great value for the money

Looks good and the non-stick is great.
Color: Ivory
I really like the look of this cookware. The non-stick is great and cleanup is easy. I do notice a few scrapes in the pans. I am very careful about the utensils I am use on them so not sure what happened. But it is not too bad and not a game changer. I would like lids for all the pans so I hope those are available for purchase. Overall I am pleased.

Great quality and value
Color: Linen Gray, Color: Linen Gray
I’ve been using the Amazon Basics ceramic nonstick set regularly, and it performs really well. Food cooks evenly and doesn’t stick, and cleanup is quick. The handles stay cool, and everything feels sturdy. Looks luxe. Color looks great! For the price, it’s a solid, reliable set.

Excellent pans
Color: Linen Gray
Ceramic coating, aluminum body with steel plate on the bottom for induction cooking. Used these on an induction hot plate and they worked better than the stainless steel pans I had tried before. They have a nice heft, without being heavy. Made in Luxembourg according to the tag on the bottom. Very good looking pans.
