Lambert Orchid Mix is made from carefully selected coarse components to replicate the natural growing conditions of epiphytic orchids. Its very open structure allows for optimal air circulation around the roots, promoting their development and limiting the risk of excessive moisture.
The combination of sphagnum peat, bark, charcoal, and volcanic rock ensures a balance between water retention and rapid drainage. This combination supports strong root growth, essential for plant stability and regular flowering cycles.
Recommended Use
Use when repotting orchids, generally every 12 to 24 months, depending on the degradation of the substrate. Place the mix around the roots without compacting it to maintain its airy structure.
Water moderately, allowing the substrate to dry partially between waterings. A well-drained pot is essential to optimize the mix's performance.
Applications
Suitable for growing most orchids, especially epiphytic species such as Phalaenopsis, Cattleya, Dendrobium, and Oncidium. Adapted for growing in pots or slatted containers requiring a very well-draining substrate.
Features and Benefits
Promotes strong root anchoring and excellent root colonization.
Allows constant air circulation, essential for orchid health.
Effectively drains water while retaining useful moisture.
Combination of sphagnum, bark, charcoal, and volcanic rock for a stable substrate.
