This vintage original WWII poster was issued by the Office of War Information as OWI Poster No. 58 in 1943 in support of the National Wartime Nutrition Program.    The image of a plate with a couple chicken bones picked clean emphasizes the poster’s message which is simple and direct – Food Is A Weapon, Don’t Waste It.   The management of the nation’s food supply was a critically important aspect of the overall war effort and was something that Americans on the home front participated in directly through Victory Gardens, rationing and other programs. 

This poster is free of tape or pinholes, folded as issued and in very good clean condition with light handling wear and modest toning from age.  This poster was probably never hung up or used and overall condition is very good for this vintage original.
