Plant Bio

Monstera deliciosa

A bold tropical vine that originally comes from tropical rainforests in Central America, Monstera deliciosa has earned a place in apartments, homes, and even dorm rooms around the world. In its native habitat, it can climb more than 50 feet tall, but stays much smaller indoors. If you want to grow it as a vine indoors, give it a good sturdy support on which to climb. Otherwise with regular pruning, you can also treat it as a full, bushy floor plant.

Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact. Grown for ornamental purposes and not intended for human or animal consumption.

I ordered the 5 mg tablets by accident (meant to order 2.5), but decided not to send them back. I am glad I kept them, because the 5 mg seems to work more effectively for me than the 2.5mg did. As we age, our bodies don't produce as much melatonin on their own, and I have found that the Source Naturals peppermint melatonin works best for me. I have been using this brand for over 10 years now, and will continue now that I have switched to the 5mg dosage. The melatonin doesn't keep me asleep, but seems to help me fall asleep and sleep more peacefully once I am asleep. It is a natural, non-addicting supplement, and I would much rather use something natural than something narcotic or habit forming. I place one tablet under my tongue at bedtime and let it slowly dissolve. It takes about 10 minutes to dissolve, and usually I am almost asleep by the time it has vanished. A good night’s sleep makes for a happy and productive day following.
