| Echeveria 'Afterglow' - This very beautiful and vigorous succulent has wide powdery pinkish-lavender leaves that have a brighter pink edging and are aptly described as an "out-of-this-world" color. It grows on a short stout stem that holds 12-16 inch wide rosettes. The deep orange-red flowers can emerge from below lower leaves or sometimes as a terminal inflorescence. It is best to remove flower stalks as it detracts from the foliage and a terminal flower stalk aborts further growth. Plant in full sun for best color but it will also grow well in shade. In a well-drained soil one can water it occasionally and it will also tolerate winter rainfall. It is hardy to at least mid 20s. There has been some disagreement on the origins of this plant. Though sometimes incorrectly credited to Echeveria hybridizer Dick Wright, this plant was actually created by Don Worth, an avid succulent grower and professional photographer in the San Francisco Bay area. Don hybridized Echeveria cante (seed parent) with Echeveria shaviana (pollen parent) to create both Echeveria 'Afterglow' and its sister seedling 'Morning Light'. At that time, E. cante had not yet been named as a separate species and was still thought of as a form of E. subrigida so the parentage was originally given as E. subrigida x shaviana. Our thanks to Brian Kemble, Curator of The Ruth Bancroft Garden, for tracing down this information on Echeveria 'Afterglow'. The genus Echeveria was named to honor Mexican botanical artist Atanasio Echeverría y Godoy in 1828 by the French botanist Augustin Pyramus de Candolle (DeCandolle) who was very impressed with Echeverría's drawings. Echeverría had accompanied the the Sessé and Mociño expedition (led by Martin de Sessé y Lacasta and Mariano Mociño Suárez de Figueroa) while exploring Mexico and northern Central America and had produced thousands of botanical illustrations. The genus Echeveria is a member of the large Crassula family (Crassulaceae), which has about 1,400 species in 33 genera with worldwide distribution. Echeveria, with approximately 180 species, are native to mid to higher elevations in the Americas with the main distribution in Mexico and central America but with one species found from as far north as southern Texas and several species occurring as far south as Bolivia, Peru and possibly Argentina. The book "The genus Echeveria" by John Pilbeam (published by the British Cactus and Succulent Society, 2008) is an excellent source of information on the species and "Echeveria Cultivars" by Lorraine (AKA Rudolf) Schulz and Attila Kapitany (Schulz Publishing, 2005) has beautiful photos and great information on the cultivars and hybrids. It has been argued by some that the correct pronunciation for the genus is ek-e-ve'-ri-a, though ech-e-ver'-i-a seems in more prevalent use in the US. Cool, supportive pillow that cradles my neck and keeps me comfortable all night long

I’ve been using the Vaverto Memory Foam Pillow for a while now, and it has made a noticeable difference in how well I sleep. The gel‑infused memory foam keeps the pillow feeling cool and comfortable through the night, so I’m not constantly flipping it to find a cooler spot. WHAT A MISTAKE THIS WAS! EXTREMELY SOFT, OFFERING NO SUPPORT AT ALL!

INITIAL Impression: WHAT A MISTAKE THIS WAS! The foam is taking forever to expand, it is a gross color, it is way too soft where it has started to expand. The warranty says it ONLY applies to the original purchaser, which means you cannot give this to anyone as a gift, it would instantly lose its warranty. DO NOT USE ANY EXTERNAL HEAT SOURCE (some memory foam actually suggests putting it in a slightly warm dryer, but to do that would void the warranty.) I got this because I have severe back pain, but it doesn't look like it will ever be firm enough to offer support. It says it will take 24-48 hours to fully expand! I bought it because I need relief NOW, not in 2 days! It has a very limited warranty of only 3 years. The memory foam travel size pillows I bought on Amazon, made by MALOUF, in 2017 came with a 5 year warranty and are still useful, but do need replacing, 9 years later! Unfortunately those pillows are no longer available on Amazon. I chose this small Vaverto memory foam pillow "for camping", because it was available with next morning delivery with some other purchases I made yesterday. (Hoping to be able to use it TODAY.) And because most of the reviews were positive.
It says on the crumpled paper warranty and directions, that ONE side of the pillow is for cooling, but WHICH SIDE? They don't tell you. The order "Shipped at 12:31 AM" the box was cold when it was "Delivered at 9:41 AM". The outdoor temperature had climbed to 51 degrees by then from a low last night of 47 degrees. My room is heated to a comfortable 78 degrees. But we still have a long way to go before this hunk of greenish blue, extremely squishy (I can pinch it at the most expanded area and my fingers nearly touch each other with maybe ¼” of foam separating them. NOT an encouraging sign. There are bits of foam starting to come out of the "punched holes" which appear to be slightly smaller on one side than the other, but WHICH is supposed to be the "cooling side that dissipates heat? Probably the larger holes, but they also weaken the firmness. On closer examination of the crumpled paper that came with it, it says '"TWO-SIDED COVER FOR VERSALITY" Then in a tiny diagram next to that, it says "COOLING SIDE DISSPATES BODY HEAT" with Dissipates spelled wrong! Where is this thing made? Ah.. "CHINA" on a severely crumpled tag inside the cover. It also says the cover is “70% Polyester 30% Viscose Made from Bamboo”. But the Photo shows "Bamboo" in large green letters on the cover along with "VaVerto" in much LARGER grey letters above that. The only letters on my case are the bottom part of a "b" with two "oo" next to it, in a grey-green color, extending from the side seam. NO actual WORDS at all. And the cover looks identical on both sides.
Okay, it's been well over 4 hours in a very warm room, now 80 degrees with the sun pouring in, and it has mostly expanded, but I can still almost touch my fingers together when pinching the thickest part of the pillow, there is still only about ¼” of foam between my fingers. I would describe that as EXTREMELY SOFT. In the actual description of the product, on the Amazon page, if you open the "Features & Specs" it shows "Item Firmness Description - Medium" NOT what the headline says for the product: "Vaverto Small Memory Foam Bed Pillow for Camping - Compressible Medium Firm, Breathable Cover, Machine Washable, Ideal Backpacking".
If I weren’t bedridden in a nursing home this would go back immediately, but it is very hard to get the staff here to help me return ANYTHING that needs to be taken to a store or kiosk. So I may just be out $22.07.
FINAL Impression: WHAT A MISTAKE THIS WAS! EXTREMELY SOFT, OFFERING NO SUPPORT AT ALL!

This Pillow Is A Must Buy!! What Are You Waiting For?

This is, without a doubt, the best pillow I have ever owned. One of my favorite features is the adjustable shredded memory foam fill, which allows you to customize the loft and firmness by adding or removing foam to suit your sleeping preferences. As both a side and back sleeper, I found it incredibly comfortable and supportive.
The overall quality is excellent, from the materials used in the pillow itself to the thoughtful packaging. The removable cover is washable, although I personally use a pillowcase to keep it protected. I also appreciated that extra foam is included, making it easy to fine-tune the pillow over time.
The difference in my sleep quality was noticeable from the very first night. I’ve been sleeping more comfortably and waking up feeling more rested ever since I started using it. Considering the quality, comfort, and customization options, I believe the $75 price point is well worth it. I am so impressed with this pillow that I plan to purchase another one in the future.

I purchased the DreamyBlue Signature Adjustable Pillow for my husband because he often experiences back discomfort, and many of the pillows we had previously would become flat and lose their support over time.
This pillow has exceeded our expectations. It is incredibly soft, comfortable, and comes with extra filling, which allows you to adjust the firmness to your personal preference. We really appreciated having that option.
Even after extended use, the pillow has maintained its shape much better than other pillows we've owned. It provides a plush, cozy feel while still offering good support. My husband finds it very comfortable, and it has quickly become his favorite pillow.

Finally Found a Pillow Worth Keeping

I genuinely feel like I’ve tried every pillow on the market. At one point, I thought Amazon was going to flag my account because I bought and returned so many pillows trying to find the right one.
This is the only pillow that made the cut.
The shredded memory foam filling makes a huge difference because the pillow is both soft and supportive, while still being adjustable to fit the way you sleep. It arrives extremely full and plush, and it even comes with an extra bag of fill, which honestly surprised me. I ended up removing about half of the filling to get it exactly how I wanted it.
I’m a side/stomach sleeper, which can make finding a good pillow difficult since most are either too thick or too flat. This one was perfect because I could shape it exactly how I sleep.
It stays cool throughout the night, has a slightly heavier premium feel, and feels much higher quality than most pillows I’ve tried. Super comfortable, supportive, and customizable.
I would absolutely recommend it and would definitely buy it again
