Blushing Philodendron – Resilient, Dark, Mysterious

Transform any room with the Blushing Philodendron! The burgundy-tinged foliage matures into deep, glossy tones. This tall, dark, and beautiful plant adds refined drama to living areas or offices, evoking an upscale yet inviting ambience. Ideal for those who appreciate living décor with a bold, contemporary edge.

Plant Personality & Aesthetic Appeal

New leaves emerge in a rich burgundy-red, gradually darkening to nearly black with a subtle sheen. Their broad, oval shape and slightly undulating margins lend a sculptural quality to each stem. In minimalist interiors, these leaves become focal points, contrasting beautifully with neutral palettes. In more eclectic schemes, they layer texture alongside woven baskets or ceramic planters. Place this plant on a desk beside a softly lit lamp, on a sideboard among framed art, or on a slim pedestal in a corner. It even works as a standout accent on a floating shelf.

Growth Habit & Size Potential

Unlike climbing philodendrons, the Blushing Philodendron forms a self-heading clump, reaching 60–90 cm in height and spreading 30 to 45 cm across. Growth is moderate: expect one to two new leaves each month during spring and summer. A 12 to 15 cm pot will allow this plant to thrive. It can allow for expansion before repotting is needed. If you want denser growth, prune spent stems at the base. No moss pole or trellis is required because its upright habit and predictable spread make it an excellent floor-standing or tabletop choice.

Light & Location Needs

This variety of plant flourishes in bright, indirect light, ideally near an east- or west-facing window. Direct midday sun can scorch new foliage, while too little light will dull its signature burgundy hue and slow leaf production. In lower-light corners, it will survive, though colour intensity and growth rate diminish. It also adapts well to a covered balcony or glazed conservatory, provided it is shielded from harsh afternoon rays. Do rotate from time to time to ensure even leaf growth.

Care Level & Maintenance Tips

Water once the top 5 cm of soil feels dry, typically every 7 to 10 days, using filtered room-temperature water. A free-draining mix with equal parts loam-based compost, orchid bark, and perlite maintains moisture without waterlogging. Feed this plant with a balanced, dilute houseplant fertiliser monthly in spring and summer; withhold feed in autumn and winter when growth slows. This philodendron is toxic if ingested, so keep out of reach of pets and children. Avoid overwatering and exposure to cold drafts, both common causes of yellowing leaves and stunted growth.

The Blushing Pride with the Blushing Philodendron

Why bring home this Blushing Philodendron? Don’t just do it for the visual impact - though you certainly could. Studies in biophilic design suggest that richly textured plants like this reduce stress levels and enhance concentration. Gazing at the dark, lustrous leaves can provide a calming reset even during the most hectic of workdays, making it an ideal companion for home offices. Although not exactly known for its air-purifying abilities, its presence still aids humidity balance. When close to seating areas or bedside tables, you feel that extra sense of relaxation and tranquillity. Vibes, you know?

Very wise and endearing
Format: Kindle
This book is my second to read. I started with the Alchemist which I read many years ago. I love this story the lessons and exercises with meditations the tie you to your soul. A lot of it was weird and a lot of it was wise. Much was beautiful and helped me to see within myself and look at the world and others with kinder eyes. I love that the road was common and anyone can take it and learn these lessons. So much soul and spirit in this story of a journey.

Stunning Review
Format: Paperback
I thought the book was a great book. The book is about a man who is a journey to Santiago. But on his journey he encounters a lot of paths that he needs to over come. He has to dig deep down and find the true him and over come many things. The purpose of this trip is so he can become a new person and do many new things that he has not done before. This will bring out a new him and this will help him as he goes on in life after this journey. The thing in the book that got me noteworthy was how he had the drive and how focused he was to make it to the end of his task. The strength of the book was it was very detailed and this was a very good thing. The weakness of the book to me was I thought the ending was just a little dry, I felt as tho they could have added just a little more to it. I like the authors writing style this was very good on how he wrote it. It was well written the words all followed very well and his was a great thing. I think the message of the book is to show you that no matter how hard things may get never give up. There is always a road of something to come at the end of everything. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a book about a journey or a path in someones life. I think it is good to read as a class because you really get to see what others think of the book together. I also think if you like a book about a person that is going thro something in life that this is a good book. The book just expresses so many trails and then he some how over comes everything. So if you like to read go head and buy the book.

I very much enjoyed the book
Format: Paperback
Malcolm A. Ivy The book " The Pilgrimage" written by Paulo Chelho, is a story about one man on a quest to find his sword. During his journey he encounters multiple aids , hazards, and traitorous tribulations, that has him question not only his phish all capabilities, but his mental capabilities as well.Accompanying him on this journey is his guide Petrus, who leads him down the road to Santiago. Teaching him many different ram practices along the road. Throughout the book we see Paulo's overall character develop ,and mature through many vigorous challenges. I very much enjoyed the book, for both content and overall story arch.I enjoyed the progression of all the characters, and looking into their minds, and experiencing their inner most thoughts. The story is extremely detailed, and vivid. This book always kept me on edge to see wether Paulo does in fact get his sword, or not. The book however did ramble at times, but in a nutshell it was rather intertwining for a book about two guys walking. I liked this book for the underlying message stating that the most hardest questions, often have the simplest answers. I highly recommend this book if you want to kill some time. This book has a lot to offer, and will leave you questioning your self, and your own thought process. You would never want to put this book down because it keeps you in a stage of Suspense. Mostly , because it's a book you can take, and learn from. So if you are looking for a book that makes you reflect, this is the book for you.
