Many have been forced to bend the knee before the banners of Rome, whilst others have fought bitterly to retain their ways of life—often fruitlessly.

But Germanic priests and sages tell tales of other forces lurking in these lands: darker shapes than marching legionaries move between the trees of those ancient forests, and rumors swirl in towns and villages of nightmares lurking beyond their walls.

Beyond the eyes of civilization, and known only to a select few, inexplicable monsters only whispered of in legend prowl, seeking to feast on the unwary.
