GROWING GUIDE

Sowing Instructions: Sow at any time of the year except early to mid-summer.  Sow in a seed tray or pots of good seed compost (eg. John Innes) and just cover the seeds with a fine layer of sieved compost. Seal in a polythene bag and maintain a temperature of 18-20C for 2 weeks. After this, move the container to the fridge and leave there for 6 weeks. Check regularly and if germination has started, remove from the fridge immediately. After 6 weeks, place the container back in 18-20C and germination should occur within the next couple of months.

Growing Instructions: Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 7.5cm pots and grow on in cooler conditions until plants are established. Plant out in spring after the last frosts or early autumn, 50cm apart in a semi-shaded position. Don’t forget to mark their position as these plants will die back completely in the winter.
