Seed Cleaning Screens - Expanded Set (Flowers, Herbs and Smaller Seeds)
We are excited to offer these sturdy hand cleaning screens to support your seed saving efforts. Our neighbor and master woodworker Mateo Geier makes these for us from sustainably harvested lumber and durable stainless steel wire mesh. If you are cleaning tiny seeds like flowers and herbs you will need this set of 3 screens. If you are wanting to clean most vegetable seeds, you will need the Basic Seed Cleaning Screens which has more space between the wires to help clean larger seeds.
Included here are these 3 sizes: 5 wires per inch (1/5"), a 20 wires per inch (1/20") and a 40 wires per inch (1/40"). These closer together wires are excellent for removing the chaff and fine dust from from tiny herb and flower seeds.
Each screen is 12" x 12" by 2" deep. The wooden frames are glued and nailed and then rounded and sanded for easy handling. The screen material is high quality stainless steel that will not rust. They come unfinished for those that may have a sensitivity to finishes or would like to meet organic certification requirements for seed processing.
We include a basic info sheet on seed cleaning to help you in your process.
