Among the first to bloom, this hardy flower is a true beacon of summer in Alaska. According to legend, its thorns were a gift to protect their tasty blossoms from the hungry rabbit.
Painting on the face of this seed packet is a crop of "Suncatchers" a painting of these beautiful flowers catching some sun during a long Alaskan summer day, by yours truly, Karen Whitworth.
