It is rare to find a cycad for sale, endemic to the Gulf of Mexico. This one is for the collector, but care is easy enough for the novice.
Plant Care
Light: Bright indirect light is best, but it will tolerate low light or some sun.
Watering: This drought-tolerant plant is perfect for travellers or forgetful plant parents. In spring/summer, allow to dry out about half down, and in winter, allow to dry out fully between waterings.
Temperature: Ideally, they want to be 16-24°C, but will tolerate as low as 13C.
Potting: A tolerant plant, it will do well with most mixes if it is not too moist. Our A sandy loam mix is a good choice for this plant.
Hot tips: Despite its common name, don't treat this plant like a palm. This desert dweller isn't keen on high humidity and will grow twice as fast if you pop it in full sun.
Pet Friendly: NOPE, but our cat is not interested in playing with this due to its size and shape.
