We acquired this delightful dwarf elephant ear from the Galloway brothers, Alan and Frank. Unlike most other elephant ears, this light shade- and moisture-lover forms rounded patterned leaves of velvety medium green, each highlighted by a wide silver streak down the center vein with smaller silver veins radiating from the center to the leaf edge. The plants are adorned all summer with small yellow spathe and spadix flowers. The 18" tall plants make 2' wide clumps in 3 years but spread much faster (4' wide patch in 2 years) in very wet soils by means of short, above-ground stolons...quite unique and quite beautiful!

TL;DR: Not worth the money I’ve had quite a few cooling pillows and, while not the worst, this is also not the best in my experience. First, I had to take the cover off. It was ridiculously thick, thereby negating any cooling effect that I could feel. With the cover removed, the cooling sensation is noticeable when laying your head on it and it lasts for a minute or so. On the bright side, when the cooling feeling completely dissipates, the pillow doesn’t feel hot like some others. Having to lay on it without the cover makes it less comfortable because of the encasing material. Other than that, I’d rate the support and comfort as mediocre as well. Not worth the money in my opinion, maybe if it was about 33%-50% less.

When I went to wash the pillow covering I discovered that it iterally had a Tempurpedic factory pillow covering underneath the Casper factory pillow covering - leading me to believe that it was either a return item shipped out as new, and the previous owner actually returned a Tempurpedic pillow disguised as a Casper, or Casper is actually manufactured by Tempurpedic and uses the Casper brand to upcharge. I bought an inexpensive cooling pillow from Costco and we both found that one to cool a little bit and it isn’t hot. I’m summary, you don’t always get what you pay for and at $100, this pillow does not deliver. It’s supportive and it seems well made, which is why I give it two stars. But it does not deliver any cooling. Save your money and try a different pillow.
