Zinnias are some of the easiest flowers to start from seed. This particular cultivar is a "tetraploid " type of zinnia, meaning plants are more vigorous, bloom larger flowers (up to 7 inches across), and have higher tolerance to diseases like powdery mildew. This is a mixed colors blend that includes purple/pink/yellow/red colors, but is more heavy in the pink/purple shades. State Fair zinnias are tall plants, growing to be 4FT tall and very bushy. Zinnias start flowering approximately 2.5 months after starting from seed. Flowers bloom on top of long stems making it a great choice for cut flowers and bouquets. They attract tons of butterflies, bees, and other pollinators into my garden. This flower easily re-seeds around my garden and grows well in full sun. It tolerates some drought too.  Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flower production.

Germination: 3-7 days

Seed Sowing Depth: 1/4” deep 

Sowing: Can direct sow after the last frost, or start in pots 4-6 weeks before the last frost. In warmer climates can also direct sow at end of summer for fall flowers.
