Description: An early-maturing soybean that is ideal for the shorter growing season. Expect 2 - 3 plump, creamy beans per pod. Developed at the University of New Hampshire. This is a NON-GMO, certified organic selection.

Certified Organic by Ecocert Canada/ Open Pollinated/ Non-GMO

Pack Size: 40 seeds

Latin Name: Phaseolus vulgaris
Main Uses: Ideal for edamame (Japanese style), fresh beans similar to lima beans, or dried beans.

Days to Maturity: 75 days
Exposure: Full sun
Height: Plants average 40-43 cm (16-17”) and are well-branched, tall and sturdy.
Flower Color: Mauve
Certified Organic: Ecocert Canada

Germination: During germination, the seeds can be extra-sensitive to soil water levels, therefore soaking seeds is NOT a good idea. Soybean seeds are known to rot in waterlogged soils. Allow soils to thoroughly warm up to 21 - 25˚C prior to planting (use black bio-film over the soil to warm it up faster). Edamame seeds do not germinate in cool soils.

Planting Depth: 2.25 cm (1")
Seed Spacing: 5-8 cm (2-3") apart within rows.
Row Spacing: 50-90 cm (20-36") apart. Soybeans require a lot of space for good yields.

Growing in Containers: Ideal for raised beds or extra large pots but soybeans will not yield in average pots.

Fertilizing (Garden): Plant in a garden bed recently amended with quality compost. No additional fertilizing is required.

Watering (Garden): Water young plants regularly to establish. Mature plants will benefit from deep watering once per week.

Special Requirements for Cold Climate Gardeners: Soybeans do not like cold conditions so avoid planting out before the soil has warmed o at least 21˚C.

Harvesting: Edamame is harvested when pods are fresh, plum and vivid green. Soybeans are determinate, meaning that most of the beans will ripen at one time. The pods can also be left on the plant to harvest dry beans; in this case wait until 90% of leaves have fallen at which point the plants can be cut down and hung to dry in a sheltered, well-ventilated location until pods are fully cured (less than 9% moisture content).

Suitability for Indoors: Not suited for indoors.

All around helpful---worth the money!
Format: Paperback
This guide has been most helpful for all the folks I help prepare for the iTEP test! It gives insight into what each section of the test is looking for along with examples and great tips about actually TAKING the test. In the Writing and Speaking sections, it also gives sample scores and comments from the Master Grader which is very helpful too.

Comprehensive, clear and coherent!
Format: Paperback
The iTEP Practice Guide combines a no-nonsense approach to the specific iTEP tests and at the same time offers exercises that task the student with what they need to know. Exercises not only serve the purpose of scoring well, but the overall approach is communicative competence. We use the text in our group and one-to-one classes with very positive--and lasting--results.

No recomiendo
Format: Paperback

Solid book that gives you useful commands and some Blue Team essentials
Format: Paperback
If you're looking at this, you know why you're looking at it, so not going to explain. It is good. 130 or so pages and most of it is commands that are useful for your run books. The book doesn't explain how to interpret the results, but if you can understand it and are comfortable on a shell, you can probably hazard a guess anyways, or Google it. A small amount of the commands are a tiny bit dated, which is expected with a print manual giving you commands for applications/OSes that are always changing, but even if dated, they at least give you the idea of what to run. Just go look up a good replacement application, or check the --help file for updated syntax. Really liked the IR checklist at the back, will incorporate some of that.
