Maranta leuconeura 'Lemon Lime'

Maranta leuconeura 'Lemon Lime' is a bright green prayer plant with lime to yellow-green veins over deeper green leaves. It keeps the classic Maranta movement, with leaves that sit open in daylight and lift as light levels fall. The pattern stays green-toned, with no red venation.

This cultivar grows from shallow rhizomes into a low, spreading plant. It usually stays compact in height while gradually widening with new stems and leaves. The soft leaf surface, fine roots, and moisture-sensitive growth need steady watering, warm conditions, and a pot size that does not hold excess water around the roots.

Lime-green veins on Maranta leuconeura Lemon Lime

  • Leaf colour: Deep green blades with lime-green to yellow-green venation.
  • Central pattern: Yellowish-green striping and a lighter central area define the bright leaf pattern.
  • Growth habit: Low, clump-forming, and spreading from shallow rhizomes.
  • Movement: Leaves fold upward at night and relax again by day.
  • Pot shape: Wider pots give the creeping stems room to fill outward as the plant matures.

Brazilian forest conditions for Maranta leuconeura Lemon Lime

Maranta leuconeura comes from wet tropical habitats in Brazil, where filtered light and organic, moisture-retentive ground layers shape its low growth. Indoors, 'Lemon Lime' needs bright indirect light, stable root moisture, warm temperatures, and an airy substrate.

Under bright indirect light, new leaves expand cleanly, while strong direct sun can mark the thin leaf surface. The plant expands by producing new leaves from basal and creeping growth points. Mature stems can loosen and trail when the pot fills, and trimmed sections with nodes can be rooted during active growth.

Care for Maranta leuconeura Lemon Lime

  • Light: Give bright indirect light or gentle filtered morning light. Avoid strong midday sun on the leaves.
  • Watering: Keep the substrate lightly and evenly moist, watering when roughly the top 20–35% has dried.
  • Water quality: Use rainwater, filtered water, or low-mineral water where possible, especially in areas with hard tap water.
  • Substrate: Use a moisture-retentive but aerated mix with coco coir, fine bark, perlite, and a small organic component.
  • Drainage: Use a pot with drainage and avoid compacted lower substrate, as fine Maranta roots need moisture and oxygen at the same time.
  • Humidity: Keep humidity around 50–60% for clean leaf expansion and fewer dry tips.
  • Temperature: Grow warm at 18–27°C and avoid cold surfaces below the pot, cold draughts, and wet substrate below about 15°C.
  • Feeding: Feed at low strength during active growth. Flush the substrate occasionally if fertilizer salts build up.
  • Repotting: Repot only when the roots have filled the current pot, moving up by one pot size.
  • Propagation: Propagate by division of rooted sections or by stem cuttings with nodes, kept warm and evenly moist while new roots form.
  • Mineral substrates: In semi-hydro or inert substrates, keep moisture steady, maintain warmth, and flush regularly to prevent mineral buildup around the fine roots.
  • Trimming: Remove yellow leaves and trim long stems above a node to encourage a denser pot.
  • Placement: Keep it away from hot glass, radiators, cold draughts, and exposed shelves where the soft leaves dry too quickly.
  • Growth rate: This Maranta usually spreads at a moderate pace in warmth and steady humidity, with slower side growth in cool or dry conditions.

Stress signs on Maranta leuconeura Lemon Lime leaves

  • Brown leaf tips: Check humidity, water quality, fertilizer strength, and repeated dry spells.
  • Yellowing leaves: Check for overwatering, poor drainage, compacted substrate, or cold wet roots.
  • Root rot risk: Soft stems, sour-smelling substrate, and collapsing lower growth point to wet roots and low oxygen around the rhizomes.
  • Faded leaf colour: Move the plant away from direct sun and check that new leaves are expanding under steady indirect light.
  • Curled leaves: Check substrate moisture first, then temperature and air dryness.
  • Leaf spots: Remove marked leaves if needed, keep the foliage from staying wet for long periods, and improve airflow around dense pots.
  • Pests: Check for spider mites, thrips, mealybugs, and scale-like pests around stems and leaf undersides. Fine webbing, pale speckling, sticky residue, or white clusters signal pests that can spread quickly through dry, crowded plant groups.

Pet-friendly handling for Maranta leuconeura Lemon Lime

Maranta leuconeura 'Lemon Lime' is generally regarded as pet-friendly and is not treated like calcium-oxalate aroids. Repeated chewing can damage the soft leaves and may upset a pet’s stomach, so keep it out of reach of animals that nibble plants.

The name behind Maranta leuconeura Lemon Lime

Maranta leuconeura É.Morren is an accepted species in Marantaceae and was published in 1874. The genus name Maranta honours Bartolomeo Maranta, a 16th-century Italian physician and botanist. The species epithet leuconeura refers to pale or white veining, reflected here in a lime-green vein network rather than red venation.

Excellent Cabinet for someone good at mounting a cabinet
Color: White, Style: Wall Cabinet
The cabinet arrived very well packaged with an instruction booklet, hardware, and an Allen wrench. The booklet says you will just need a Phillips screwdriver, but you will also need a drill with an appropriate bit (more on the bit later) to mount the cabinet on the wall. Assembling the cabinet was simplified by how well the cabinet pieces and hardware were labeled and referenced in the instruction booklet. The holes in all the cabinet parts lined up nicely. The doors swing on spring loaded pivots. They are not adjustable, but work well and are probably much less expensive than European style hinges. I was concerned that the doors would not line up, but they look fine. The Magnetic Latch also works well, but the little piece of wood that it mounts on fell off during assembly so I glued it back in place. This was the only problem I had assembling the cabinet. I let the glue dry overnight and mounted the cabinet the next day. The wood support plate they ship with the cabinet is a great way to hang a cabinet, however I did have some problems using the supplied anchors. I recommend having some other anchors and screws available in case you have similar issues. Skip this paragraph if you do not care about the details: I mounted the cabinet on drywall. The instructions said to drill 11/32” holes for the supplied plastic wall anchors. I did not have an 11/32” bit so I used a 5/16” bit. Even though my holes were 1/32” smaller than specified, the anchors slid into the drywall very easily without having to tap them. I recommend using a 5/16” bit or even a 9/32” bit instead of the 11/32” they specify. Next I mounted the support plate with the supplied screws, but I could not get the screws tight enough to hold the plate securely in place. It felt like the screws were too small in diameter so I used some slightly larger screws. That worked fine for one of the screws holding the plate and the two lower screws, but the second screw through the plate would not bite and hold the plate firmly. Fortunately I had one HILTI 3/16” hollow wall metal anchor left over from a previous project and was able to get the plate very solidly attached to the wall. My wife is very pleased with the cabinet. I did have some trouble with the latch and the install so I was tempted to knock off a star, but I think this is a 5-Star item considering the low cost and how well the the cabinet parts aligned with each other.

Love and amazing for the price!
Color: White, Style: Wall Cabinet, Color: White, Style: Wall Cabinet
Perfect! I'm a renter and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on something that might not work in the next place so this looked like it would be a good fit. I really wasn't expecting much for the price point but I was VERY pleasantly surprised. It's a great piece. I love assembling things (I'm an Ikea pro) but this had literally the easiest and most explicit instructions I have ever seen. Every piece is clearly labeled. The hardware comes in a bubble pack, again clearly labeled. Rhe instructions are very clear. Another thing I appreciated was the mounting mechanism which is a French cleat. It is much easier to level and screw in a cleat than to recruit help and try to hold a cabinet in place and try screwing it in. I'm a fat middle age woman and I had no problem mounting it by myself. Notice there are no screws visible on the outside. That was a huge selling point for me. Only con is that for the quality of everything else, the shelves are on the thin side, placing anything substantial would definitely make them bow. Background is a scrap of peel-and-stick.

Good cabinet choice
Color: White, Style: Wall Cabinet
I needed a wall cabinet for a recessed area above the toilet. This one fits the area perfectly and provides a good amount of storage in an otherwise wasted space. It looks good as it coordinates well with my white shaker style cabinets elsewhere in the room. It was easy to assemble, doors lined up perfectly, and mounting was a breeze with the included screws and hardware. It doesn't get hard use in this location, but seems sturdy after almost a year.

Versatile Room Divider With Easy Assembly and Strong Coverage
Size: 3 Panel 12FT W
I picked up this Siebwin 3-panel folding room divider mainly for privacy and room separation, and overall it works very well. Assembly is very straightforward, and the divider can be set up, taken apart, and stored without much effort. The fabric quality feels good, and the frame construction is stronger and more stable than expected. The support tubes especially feel well built and help keep the divider standing securely. One feature I really liked is the flexibility of the design. The panels can be used together as a complete divider or separated depending on the setup and available space. That makes it much more versatile for different room layouts or temporary privacy needs. The coverage is also very good, and the size matches the manufacturer’s description accurately. The fabric blocks light and background visibility well enough to provide solid privacy without feeling overly heavy. The wider feet also help improve stability compared to thinner folding dividers. Another positive detail is that everything arrived complete with no missing parts or damaged pieces, which made assembly much easier and faster. Compared to cheaper privacy screens, this one feels more durable and easier to customize depending on the situation. In terms of value for the money, it feels like a very practical and worthwhile purchase considering the size, flexibility, and build quality. Overall, a versatile and well-built room divider with easy assembly, strong privacy coverage, stable construction, complete included parts, flexible panel configuration, and excellent everyday functionality.

Stable, flexible in deployment configuration, creates true privacy and looks great.
Size: 3 Panel 12FT W
This is the second room divider panel I have installed, and there are several features about this one that I like much better than my older one. The fact that there are no gaps and that the material is thicker means you get more privacy or more hiding power, if you wish. My older divider has vertical spaces between each of the panels and the panels are half as wide as the Siebwin panels, so there are many vertical spaces. The Siebwin divider really creates privacy. Another feature that I really appreciate is that the legs are wider and stand off from the floor. On my older one the legs are flat and they're rather awkward to adjust because they create more drag on the floor. The feet on the older one also loosen if you turn them counter clockwise, so adjustments of configuration that require the feet to be moved are more complex. The older divider also must be deployed in a zig-zag fashion because he feet are not as wide, but this new one can be deployed and stable in a straight, an "N" shape or an arc. They are both the same length, but because the older one must be use in a zig-zag deployment it doesn't reach to the length of the new one. The Siebwin divider definitely costs more at $103.48, but it sports several features and advantages over the other brand, so it does a better job and is worth the extra cost.
