Everyday Potting Soil Mix – general potting base for indoor plants
Everyday Potting Soil Mix is the simple option for standard repotting jobs. It provides a familiar soil base that can be adapted to different houseplant groups rather than forcing one texture on every plant.
What it suits
- Ready to use: suits many common houseplants
- Moderate moisture: holds water without being a specialist wet mix
- Custom-friendly: can be opened with perlite, bark or lava rock
- General use: not ideal for orchids, carnivorous plants or lean succulents on its own
Quick fit summary
Use it for common foliage plants, starter plants and pots where a balanced soil base is appropriate. Adjust with perlite, bark or mineral ingredients if the existing root system needs more air or faster dry-down.
Good matches
Carnivorous plants, orchids, cacti, Lithops and reservoir-based semi-hydro setups need different materials. Choose a dedicated substrate for those groups.
How it fits into your setup
This mix is built around structure first. Use it as a complete potting mix, or blend it into a base soil to adjust airflow and drying speed.
Watering should match the pot size and root mass. Check moisture at depth and adjust your routine after the first few cycles.
More to know
- Moisten dry components before potting so the mix settles evenly.
- Choose pot size for the root ball, not for the top growth.
- Top-dress with the same mix to reduce surface compaction.
