Anthurium regale is one of the true giants among Anthuriums.

The petioles of Anthurium regale can grow up to 1.5 metres long, and the leaves over a metre long and 50 cm wide. The shape is classically heart-shaped, and the colour of the mature leaves is a velvety dark green with bright, raised veins that create a distinct pattern. New leaves start out yellowish to orange, then turn light green before darkening over time.

The root ball (stem) is upright and compact, up to 5 cm thick, and forms strong supporting roots that help support the plant.

Despite its size, Anthurium regale is quite sparse with its leaves, even with good care it usually only has 1 to 3 leaves at a time. Young plants may have a few more, but it is rare to see large specimens with more than three leaves at a time.

Botanical description.

Anthurium regale comes from northern Peru, where it grows along the valleys of the Rio Huallaga river on the eastern slopes of the Andes. In the dense, moist undergrowth of the rainforest, at altitudes between 300 and 1000 meters above sea level, the species usually grows directly in the ground. This distinguishes it from many other Anthurium species, which are usually epiphytes.

The species belongs to the ' Cardiolonchium section' which includes most velvety Anthurium varieties.

Care.

This Anthurium comes from a shady, humid and mild rainforest environment and wants to have much the same at home. It thrives best in shady locations without direct sun, and appreciates cool nights and mild daytime temperatures.

The soil should be kept evenly moist but not wet - it does not tolerate standing water and the roots can rot quickly if it gets too wet. It should also never dry out completely. High humidity (preferably above 60%) is important, especially if you want to produce really large leaves.

In winter it is especially important to protect the sensitive young leaves from dry air, drafts and hot elements. Anthurium regale grows quite quickly and needs regular nutrition, regular potting soil every two weeks in half dose works fine. Buy Anthurium regale online!

If you love your dog…don’t buy this.
Color: Orange
We have a nonaggressive English cocker. She opened the ball every time she played with it. And yes, we are closing it as hard as we can. I do not recommend this toy for any dog! This is a dangerous toy for a dog that is not supervised.

dog ball
Color: Blue
This ball is perfect for keeping my dog active and entertained. It's made of strong, durable material, ideal for games of fetch. It doesn't break easily and is light enough for him to carry in his mouth without any problem.

Fun but not for rough play.
Color: Orange
The ball contented our “golden” Jaxson for about 15 minutes. He then thought it was a regular ball and it’s just a little delicate for a big dog. I just wrote it off as a loss. Great idea but should be more durable.
