Monstera obliqua Peru is a fine-stemmed climbing Monstera with extremely perforated, delicate green leaves. Mature blades can show more open space than solid leaf surface, giving the plant a light, lace-like appearance.

Monstera obliqua is an accepted Araceae species native from Costa Rica to South Tropical America and Trinidad. It grows as a climber in wet tropical forest, with thin foliage, aerial roots, filtered light and humid air around tree trunks and other vertical surfaces.
The Peru form is known for especially open, lace-like leaf perforation. Indoors, sudden drying, cold wet substrate, and dry moving air can all damage new leaves before they fully harden.
Stability care for Monstera obliqua Peru
- Humidity: Aim for high humidity with gentle airflow, especially while leaves are expanding.
- Light: Provide bright filtered light; thin leaves can scorch quickly in direct sun.
- Watering: Keep the substrate lightly moist, allowing only the top layer to dry before watering again.
- Substrate: Use an airy, moisture-retentive aroid mix that drains freely and stays open around the roots.
- Support: Use a slim moss pole, fibre pole, or textured surface so the vine can attach as it climbs.
- Temperature: Keep consistently warm, about 20–27 °C, with no cold nights around the root zone.
- Feeding: Use very dilute feed on warm, actively rooting growth; skip strong doses because fine roots and thin leaves react quickly.
- Repotting: Repot in small increments with minimal root disturbance, keeping delicate stems supported while the mix is changed.

- Distorted new growth: Stabilise humidity and avoid moving the plant while a new leaf is opening.
- Yellow leaves: Inspect roots for stagnant moisture or compacted substrate before watering again.
- Slow growth: Review temperature, root condition, and stem attachment before changing fertiliser.
Toxicity and handling
Monstera obliqua Peru is toxic if ingested. Chewed leaves or stems can release calcium oxalate crystals that irritate the mouth, throat, and digestive tract.

MUFON vs. Stephen Greer

How it relates- this book was once sold (now out of stock) by mufon on their website- out of the many books that could've been chosen.
I see a lengthy review by an obvious Stephen Greer fan. I, too, have seen his films. I was also once a member of Mufon in which paying that membership fee allowed me the extra little bit of privilege to attend web seminars/ community zoom meetings.
I participated in some of these meetings to fully feel and understand what I was paying for, honestly.
I joined mufon as a Stephen Greer fan myself so I was excited to use the opportunity to ask others of their thoughts about him and his films during one of these meetings. What I got was silence and if anything, a slight scoff. He was quickly dismissed and I was left with my own conclusion.
This book is like most say- very interesting. I think both the author and Stephen Greer may have some things right but but all.
My first instinctive question about this book was "how does he know this?" Right out of the gate, I'm assuming it's pure sci-fi but he does provide some backstory.
Well, his work is comprised of others accounts.
It can be unnerving when it comes to the malevolent species.
If I had to pick a side drawn from my own conclusions- it would be MUFON over Dr. Greer because if there are malevolent species, you won't catch me in the open air shining lasers and telepathically calling the closest craft to come down and visit, blindly welcoming.
Some close encounters and abductees are horrified by their experience and live through a lasting trauma.
If you peruse the national ufo reporting center website, you will see reports of different crafts and behavior. One could interpret this as different levels of curiosity or.....various agendas.
The universe is infinite as far as we know- beyond our humanly knowledge and capabilities. We haven't even fully explored our own galaxy. If we have the ability to be malevolent at times, what human can really say there's not another life form like us? Another life form that relies on food (other life forms) for energy? We all know what can happen when we get a little hungry. We all know the greed that can came from the demand and price of natural resources. Could other species scout the Earth just as we are racing for resources on the moon? There should be no limit to possibilities so I can only stay open minded.
BOTTOM LINE- 100% would recommend as a read. It's different from the others when you want a refreshing change in format. No long stories so you can pick up anywhere- almanac style. A reference guide for alien races that can be quite entertaining!

An interesting and fun to read book for those who are into extraterrestrial species.
Format: Paperback
My reading interests have always been wide and varied. I love exploring scientific topics like physics, astronomy, cosmology and space travel; however, I am also curious about many other strange and unique subjects and after seeing this book (The Extraterrestrial Species Almanac: The ultimate guide to greys, reptilians, hybrids, and Nordics (MUFON) by Craig Campobasso) on Amazon I decided to purchase it.
Even though I am scientific minded I have to admit to be fascinated when I started to read this tongue and cheek treatment of supposed creatures inhabiting our universe, which must be hiding from our scientists who are working for SETI. May be they should also read this book? In any case, I do like this book because it is a joy and a fun exploration of what extraterrestrials might look like.
If you are interested in the unknown mysteries of outer space and what an alien race might look like, what their philosophy might be, and whether they are friendly to we earthlings or not, this book will provide that information as long as you keep in mind that it is a “tongue in cheek” evaluation. I also found the illustrations of our space brothers and sisters kind of interesting and unique.
This volume is organized into 6 parts covering human extraterrestrial races, zeta humans, (greys and more), animal and insect races, notable hybrid races, reptilians, and other extraterrestrials.

Interesting
Format: Paperback
This was a very interesting read. I read it cover to cover in 2 days. It was fascinating. Many details within matched up to various interviews and stories I have heard. That being said, I did find it odd all the "human" like aliens appeared to be Caucasian. I realize most the descriptions included multi colored skin tones, but all the pictures appeared Caucasian. So the universe with multi dimensions has no diversity?? Also, why were the most malevolent beings the most terrifying in appearance? That seemed a bit odd. That they would just so happen to be the ones that also look the most scary? Also, I looked up some of the resources and such used and they were charging exorbitant amounts to hear about their contactee interviews or be apart of star seed ascension or whatever. It's just, if everything is to be believed, wouldn't they want everyone to experience the path to enlightenment? I mean we all have to earn a living, but $40 just to hear one session?? I scoffed at that. All that being said, I am very open minded and well, ready to ascend from this plant, like, yesterday.

Incredible source of information on extraterrestrials and where they come from

This book Has changed the game and is a breakthrough for those of us who want to know more about life that exist in our shared universe. The author has brought us an in-depth view of species and beings from all throughout the galaxies. A profound read full of information on extraterrestrials like never before, we get to have them all in one book! The author has done an amazing job with his research and is knowledgeable and convincing I believe he has evidence and enough resources to make this book believable to readers and one we can trust. Truly a work of art I have learned so much more than I ever had on this subject and really look at this book as a blueprint for humans to get know all of names of the extraterrestrials and where they come from.

A very interesting read
Format: Paperback
The book has a straight forward and simple layout. I liked the variety of info they had on different "species", some probably real, and some very questionable. Since the information the author uses relies on MUFON reports, it assumes all reports people gave over the years are true. It loses me when it gets into the more malevolent groups like reptilians and then believe it or not, dragons, which are the ultimate evil controlling them.
