🌿 Philodendron brandtianum

Common Name: Silver Leaf Philodendron
Botanical Name: Philodendron brandtianum
Origin: South America (Bolivia, Brazil, Peru)

Philodendron brandtianum, commonly known as the Silver Leaf Philodendron, is a stunning trailing or climbing indoor plant admired for its olive-green heart-shaped leaves beautifully marked with silvery variegation. Each leaf has a unique marbled pattern, giving it a soft, elegant, and highly decorative appearance.

This versatile aroid can be grown as a trailing plant in hanging pots or trained to climb a moss pole for larger, more mature foliage. Its lush silver tones make it a standout feature in modern plant styling, shelves, and indoor plant collections across Sydney.

If you’re looking to buy a rare silver foliage plant in Sydney, Philodendron brandtianum is a perfect choice for adding texture, colour contrast, and elegance to your indoor space.

🌱 Care Guide

Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. More light enhances silver variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun.

Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil is dry. Do not overwater.

Humidity:
Thrives in moderate to high humidity but adapts to indoor conditions.

Temperature:
Best grown between 18°C to 28°C. Protect from cold drafts below 15°C.

Soil:
Use a well-draining aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir.

Fertiliser:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with diluted balanced fertiliser.

Pet Friendly:
⚠️ No – Toxic if ingested. Keep away from pets and children.

Rope comes out at the slightest force. Pointless tug toy!
Color: Four colors, Size: 6cm (with rope)
If your dog pulls on these (and why wouldn’t he?), the rope immediately comes out. Turns out they just fuse the ends of the nylon rope together, which is no match for a dog playing tug. Any dog, any level of pulling will dismantle these. We’ve managed to reinsert the rope to a couple of these and KNOT it, which gives you a shorter rope but a toy that can withstand some play. But if I had wanted a DIY toy, I’d have used the balls and rope I already own.

Not for super chewers!
Color: Four colors, Size: 5cm (with rope), Color: Four colors, Size: 5cm (with rope)
These rope ball toys arrived today. My poodle puppy loves rope ball toys and playing tug of war. These didn’t last 10 minutes. For context, she is 1 y.o., 30 lbs., is not teething & has her adult teeth. She did this on her own- we were not playing tug of war at the time the toy fell apart. At least there are 3 more in the package & when the rope is done, we’ll still have the balls to play with.

Fun, Durable Balls for smaller heavy chewers
Color: Four colors, Size: 5cm (ball only)
Perfect size and strength for my small dog that is a heavy chewer! She hasn’t been able to destroy and chew up this one like she has with every other toy! Definitely chew resistant.
