Discover the Unique Beauty of Philodendron crassinervium
Philodendron crassinervium, commonly known as the Strap-Leaf Philodendron, is a captivating tropical plant native to southeast Brazil. Renowned for its long, lance-shaped leaves and distinctive growth habit, this species adds an exotic touch to any indoor plant collection.
Key Features of Philodendron crassinervium
- Foliage: Features elongated, lanceolate leaves that can grow up to 1 meter (approximately 3 feet) in length and 10 cm (approximately 4 inches) in width. The prominent midrib serves as a water storage organ, aiding the plant during dry periods.
- Growth Habit: Exhibits a climbing growth pattern with repent (creeping) and scandent (climbing) stems, making it ideal for training on supports or allowing to trail gracefully.
- Unique Characteristics: The midrib is adorned with small red glands that produce a clear sap, giving the leaves a freckled appearance on both sides.
How to Grow and Care for Philodendron crassinervium
- Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate low light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf scorching.
- Watering: Maintain moist soil by watering thoroughly when the top 50% of the soil has dried out. Ensure the pot has proper drainage to prevent root rot.
- Soil: Prefers loose, well-draining soil rich in organic matter. A mix containing coco coir, perlite, and orchid bark is ideal.
- Temperature and Humidity: Grows well in temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C) during the day and above 55°F (13°C) at night. Keep away from drafts, especially during winter months.
- Fertilization: Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced, diluted houseplant fertilizer. Reduce feeding frequency during fall and winter.
- Pruning: Regular pruning helps maintain the desired shape and encourages bushier growth.
Common Issues and Solutions
- Yellowing Leaves: Often a sign of overwatering. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings and ensure proper drainage.
- Leggy Growth: May indicate insufficient light. Move the plant to a brighter location with indirect sunlight.
- Pests: Watch for common pests like aphids, mealybugs, and spider mites. Treat infestations promptly with appropriate insecticidal soap , neem oil, or use beneficial insects.
Where to Use Philodendron crassinervium?
- Indoor Décor: Ideal for training on moss poles or trellises to showcase its climbing nature.
- Terrariums and Greenhouses: Suitable for humid environments where it can thrive and display its lush foliage.
- Office Spaces: Adds a touch of greenery and elegance to workspaces with appropriate lighting conditions.

I believe this is one of the best devotionals on the market today
I have just started reading this devotional a few days ago and I don’t feel any heart convictions but that doesn’t mean this isn’t a good book. I believe you can read any of the devotions in this book whenever and not have to read it based on the day. I love that is has a scripture study on the bottom for more understanding and study that to me brings this devotional out from the others. I don’t have a lot of devotionals this one and some from Day Spring I like and that’s it. I have a couple Bibles with devotions but I like to open a book that has a devotional for me to read and study verses a huge book with devotions, don’t get me wrong I love my NIV woman’s study Bible but sometimes I just need to read one devotion per book and study and be done for the day. I have been looking on the market for some time in different places like our local Ollie’s and wasn’t drawn to anything. I came here and searched devotionals and this one popped up first and it sounded amazing and was recommended by a friend of mine in person I know and I felt like this was one that was going to make a difference in my life and not have just some inspiration message and a verse, I wish I got the one I could write in but that’s ok I can write in my journal and date it. So YES I highly recommend this book to anyone needing a good devotional and I don’t have this other one but God hears her sounds really good for the ladies but this one here is good for everyone not just ladies. I am just trying to figure out the best way to get the most out of this devotional Toby Mac has even read this and recommended it if that doesn’t say anything I don’t know what will. Get it for Christmas gifts for people you know. Get it just because or I’m thinking of you gift it’s good for any day and occasion. Like I said I’m just trying to figure out the best way to read it and get everything out of it!! It’s definitely more than inspiration and a quote. If this was the only one on the market it would be the only one that you need!

Excellent Devotional
Excellent devotional. This author has a way of getting to the point and expressing it so well. He understands how human beings function, how our problem, sin, is in our own heart. Each daily devotional will speak truth, based on God’s Word. Grace is emphasized over and over again because we so often forget the gift we have been given: Jesus Christ. I highly recommend this devotional.

An insightful and encouraging read for anyone in their faith journey
Format: Hardcover
The best devotional book that I have read yet! Every morning there is something challenging, encouraging, and well thought out. There is a scripture to go with each day which can help you know where to start when reading your Bible. The analogies are insightful and encouraging to read. It makes you want to grow in a relationship with Jesus and is good for anyone to read. It isn't a high reading level, so it is good for those new to their faith or those who are looking to grow more.
