Aglaonema ‘Crete’ | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU | Pet-toxic
Summary: Aglaonema ‘Crete’ stuns with its vibrant green leaves brushed with pink-red hues, bringing a warm, exotic glow to shaded corners with minimal care.
✨ Why You'll Love the Aglaonema ‘Crete’
- Beautiful variegated foliage with pink-red stems and accents
- Perfect for brightening German apartments and offices
- Very easy to care for – great for beginners and frequent travellers
- Air-purifying qualities to enhance indoor wellbeing
- Average height: 40–60 cm | Growth: Upright and bushy
🌞 Light & Placement
Thrives in medium to low indirect light. Too much direct sun can fade its vivid pink and red tones. Ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, and low-light corners needing colour.
💧 Water & Humidity
Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry before watering. Prefers moderate humidity levels typical of European homes but benefits from occasional misting to keep leaves fresh.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Use a well-draining indoor potting mix rich in organic matter. Repot every 1–2 years in spring when roots begin to crowd. Ensure pots have drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested due to calcium oxalate crystals. Keep out of reach of cats, dogs, and small children.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Moderate grower. Propagate easily by stem cuttings in water or soil during spring and summer to create new plants or fuller clusters in your collection.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
Wipe leaves monthly to maintain their shine and photosynthesis efficiency. Reduce watering in winter as growth slows naturally.
🐛 Common Issues
Watch for yellowing leaves due to overwatering. Occasionally susceptible to mealybugs or spider mites; treat infestations promptly with neem oil.
🧬 Botanical Background
Aglaonema ‘Crete’ is a cultivar of the Chinese Evergreen, native to Southeast Asia. Loved worldwide for its resilience, bold tropical colours, and ability to thrive in low-light indoor spaces.
