These are very small seeds so I will mix them with sharp sand to facilitate getting the seeds out of the packet and "sprinkling" them evenly. This easy to grow succulents are most valued for their fascinating rosettes of succulent, spiral patterned foliage, although they also have pretty flowers from spring to summer. These are really low maintenance plants as they require very little watering or feeding. They thrive in sunny spots in well-draining compost. They can be grown outdoors in containers and rockeries but depending on where you are, may need some winter protection especially from waterlogging. Alternatively they can be grown all-year round as house plants.

Germination Guide

Sow indoors at any time but preferably Jan to Apr
Prepare a small tray of moist cactus compost mix or a home-made well-draining compost mix
Scatter the seeds over surface and gently press onto soil to ensure a good contact.
Do not cover seeds as light needed for germination
Lightly mist the tray with water.
Cover tray with clear plastic bag with a couple of air holes to maintain humidity
Keep at circa 18-20c
Germination takes around 2 weeks
After germination, increase ventilation to reduce the risk or rot/damping off
Slowly accustom seedlings to direct sunlight
Pot on to individual pots once large enough to handle
Note: Germination rates can be increased by a short period of cold stratification.
