Lavandin ‘Provence’ is a vigorous, robust lavender known for its exceptionally long stems, soft mauve blooms, and strong, traditional lavender fragrance. This cultivar develops a broad, well-balanced shrub and produces abundant flower spikes that move beautifully in the garden and perform reliably when harvested.
The flower spikes are narrow and lighter in color than many lavandins, giving ‘Provence’ a more subtle, airy look. While this makes it less ideal for bold dried bundles, it is excellent for lavender wands, crafts, and informal bouquets, where stem length and flexibility matter most. Its softer tone also blends especially well when planted alongside darker-flowered lavandins in the landscape.
‘Provence’ is grown primarily for craft use and garden presence, rather than essential oil production. With its long stems, strong fragrance, and graceful habit, it remains a favorite among growers who value versatility and ease of harvest.
