An Exotic Powerhouse for Any Space

Whether you have a sprawling backyard or a sun-drenched apartment, the Tropical Storm Elephant Ear (Colocasia esculenta 'Tropical Storm') brings an immediate sense of the exotic to your doorstep. This isn't your average, oversized Taro. 'Tropical Storm' was specifically bred to be a compact showstopper, offering the same dramatic, dark foliage as its larger cousins but in a manageable 2-foot frame. This smaller stature makes it the ultimate "crossover" plant—perfect as a high-contrast patio accent in the summer and a sophisticated houseplant in the winter.

High-Voltage Foliage

The name "Tropical Storm" perfectly captures the visual energy of its leaves. Each heart-shaped leaf emerges in a deep, moody purple-black that appears almost charcoal in certain lights. A bold, creamy-white center then "strikes" through the middle of the leaf, creating a jagged contrast that looks like a lightning bolt against a dark sky. Because the stems are also dark and succulent, the plant maintains a cohesive, high-fashion look from the soil line to the leaf tips.

From Patio Thriller to Indoor Specimen

In the garden, use Colocasia esculenta 'Tropical Storm' as the "thriller" in your mixed containers. Its bold texture and dark colors make lime-green ferns or bright pink petunias pop with intensity. Because it loves water, it is also a fantastic choice for boggy areas or the edges of a garden pond where other plants might struggle with "wet feet."

When the temperatures begin to dip, you don't have to say goodbye to this beauty. Simply move your containers indoors. As a houseplant, 'Tropical Storm' acts as a living sculpture, cleaning the air and adding a bold focal point to your interior design. Its compact size ensures it fits perfectly on a side table or a plant stand without overwhelming the room.

Seasons of Beauty

In warmer climates (Zones 8-10), 'Tropical Storm' provides year-round interest in the landscape. In northern zones, it serves as a fast-growing summer annual that creates a vacation-like atmosphere in an instant. For the gardener who wants a plant that can transition from the poolside to the parlor, 'Tropical Storm' is the clear choice.

Dog loves it! Squeaky on both ends!
Bungee rope is not as resistant as I wished, but its fun nonetheless! Squeaks in head and tail. Misssteped the tail and broke one squeaker, still fun though! Toy can handle a beating. Really happy with it!

My dogs loves this toy
I got a few different toys for them today. I need to go through their toybox and get rid of some of the older ones. I can tell the youngster loves the toys. He has taken them into one of the crates and sat with them. Then he brought them back out. He fell asleep with his head against one of them. He has been playing tug of war with this one. And the older one has been running around with it too. Pup already pulled one eye off of this one. But the toy is intact.

SPOT Bungee Raccoon
Purchased 5/20. Decent dog toy. I have a Chiyorkie and he chews on his toys constantly. The squeakers went after a couple of days and then he pulled them out. I put them in the trash. After about two months he had chewed off the head and pulled the bungee out. The bungee went in the trash. I let him play with head and tail pieces for a while but the head had gotten into bad shape so in the trash it went. That left about a twelve inch piece left. He has been playing with that now about a month. He loved tearing the toy up and I do not really blame the toy. He rips up anything that is made of cloth. The only real issue I have with the toy is the two squeakers. IMO they could cause a choking or bowel blocking hazard. I just happened to catch him chewing on them after he had gotten them back. An old knotted on each end knee sock works just about as well but from then on don't leave your socks laying around. They will be fair game for you pet. lol

Fun but.... doesnt stand up to hard play
A very fun toy. My dog loved it - short term. The bungee broke on Day 1 from pulling. (It is designed to be a tug toy, so I assume it should have lasted longer). After a couple weeks, my dog had pulled it apart. Super fun toy, but not for hard play.

Durable against many rounds of zoomies
Strong bungee cord for sure, and my pup really likes pulling on it and playing tug with it. Originally bought it to encourage him away from underwear and socks, which almost worked. He likes chewing on the feet of the raccoon, so they’ve come off, but the lack of stuffing is wonderful. This is one of the longer lasting toys he’s had, and he’s had it for a couple of months, with its functionality still 100%. This seems to be almost like a toy within a toy, as you’ll still have the band when the rest is gone. Worth the money.
