This little species Lily, which is native to wetland plains of southern South America, Argentina, Uruguay and responds to the first good rain in August by putting up white crocus-like flowers on 8" stalks overnight. This is one of the more amazing phenomena in the garden to see how quickly this plant will respond to moisture when it has been deprived for some time. It will continue to flower sporadically into fall. This particular selection was introduced by Kew Gardens of the UK in 1897 with the original collection made by a Dr. Cantera near Montevideo, Uruguay. Its leaves are a cylindrical dark black-green, which favor wild garlic, except for their color. Few plants are easier to grow in the garden than this, with this selection being more robust and vigorous than the species.

Do Not Buy This Product. this review is coming at 1 April 2026. This can opener was purchased in October 2025. My initial review was that it worked well and did the job. It was meant to do however, after a few uses, I noticed that the can opener continue to move around and around the can even after the can lid had been cut open. in January 2026 it began to make more and more rotations around the can and the lid was not cut loose. After a few more uses. It just rotated and did nothing else. I sent an email to the company. I contacted Amazon about it. I’ve done everything that I can possibly see to do but I get no positive results. Consequently, I have a six month old can opener. It does not work. worked well for the first 10 or 20 uses; then the cutting edge just wore out (3-4mos.), so now my money was wasted. No explanation no offer, too bad.

Easy to use! No more hand cranking.
If you like the ease of an electric can opener, but don’t have room to store it or don’t want to drag it out when you need to use it, this is for you.
