Toma Verde Tomatillo Seeds - Heirloom, Non-GMO, Non-Hybrid, Open-Pollinated | Planting & Growing Guide

Discover the vibrant flavor and versatility of Toma Verde Tomatillo seeds, perfect for growing in your garden or containers. These heirloom, non-GMO, non-hybrid, open-pollinated seeds produce lush plants with small, tangy, green fruits encased in papery husks—ideal for salsas, sauces, and authentic Mexican dishes.

Each packet contains 200mg of seed, approximately 160 seeds.

Planting & Growing Instructions:

Days to Maturity: 75-90 days

Planting Depth: 1/4 inch

Plant Spacing: 24-36 inches between plants in rows spaced 3-4 feet apart

Days to Germination: 7-14 days

Seed Starting Tips: For best results, start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Transplant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed, when nighttime temperatures consistently stay above 50°F. You may also direct sow in warm climates after the last frost.

Sunlight Requirements: Toma Verde Tomatillos thrive in full sun (6+ hours of direct sunlight daily).

Soil Needs: These plants prefer well-drained, fertile soil with a pH of 6.0-7.0. Adding compost or well-rotted manure will enhance growth and fruit production.

Growing Tips:

Stake or cage plants to support their sprawling growth and keep fruits off the ground for easier harvesting.

Water regularly, especially during flowering and fruit set, to ensure plump, juicy tomatillos. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely.

Tomatillos are self-incompatible, meaning you need at least two plants for cross-pollination and fruit production. Plant multiple seeds for a bountiful harvest!

Quick, fun read
Format: Kindle
I purchased this because my son and I have been raising 2 albino axolotls since 2022. The illustrations are very cute and well done. The story includes a few characters and even though it's so short, there is clear character development. I would recommend this for children under the age of 8 to be read to. With repetition, they will easily be able to read this book (apart from those with reading challenges). My 12 year old read it through in one sitting and added his own unique reading style to it which was really funny. I wouldn't recommend reading this on a small screen as the font is small.

Great Start
Format: Hardcover
My 9 year old doesn’t like reading. When it’s time for him to read to us, this is his go to book. Chapter books are a bit intimidating for him. He is eager to read about Max and is wanting to ready without us asking. We are looking forward to book 2.
